What's he on about? The bbbofc banned former commonwealth champion Liam Cameron for 4 years for traces of ******* and ruined his life. He didn't have a famous dad or rich promoter to bail him out. Philip Bowes was banned for 4 years and Shane McPhilbin was suspended for drinking Jack3D I believe. He's so unlikeable it's unreal!

Conor Benn failed two separate tests due to adverse findings; that's not an accident. The excuse of egg consumption for the two failed tests is beyond ridiculous. Benn will never sway the opinions of the boxing public with this attitude nor his excuses.
The WBC already have shown there commitment to a clean sport is questionable after the clenbuterol scandal.

The British boxing board of control deserve some credit holding firm on situation but why did it take them so long to act? The board knew about two failed tests long before the public but only acted when there was a backlash from the media. The board are not holding Benn accountable for the integrity of the sport but to save face.

Everyone involved in this situation from the fighter, promoter, and organizations are guilty in one way or another.

This dude isn’t suing anybody. He’s just trying to save face. But for those who don’t know better, the wbc is already known as an organization that supports cheaters. So them saying that they couldn’t find definitive proof that his positive test wasn’t from him eating 1000 eggs isn’t a true verdict of innocence.

Here we go again. As with the last time BoxingScene reported that the Board was investigating Benn. There's nothing in any statement that says that. They haven't released a statement saying that at any point.

UKAD is investigating Benn. Or at least they are according to the BBBofC's statement last year. And you'd kind of expect that - they act on information, tip offs etc. I'm not sure where they'll get to though if he was passing all of their testing. If they act based on him being a drugs cheat then they have to acknowledge that their testing doesn't stop fighters juicing.

Don't forget that the BBBofC never cited any kind of drug issues. They withdrew sanctioning in the best interests of the sport. Then they charged him with misconduct (and upheld it in his absence). Not drugs, misconduct. Benn later stated that the misconduct charge was unrelated to the VADA testing.

The facts matter. They're worth reporting accurately.

The Board's statement does seem unnecessary, by the way. He's not licenced by them and they say practically nothing. All they've said is that the WBC isn't a governing body and that the BBBoC follows UKAD. There's no substance to the statement at all. The only relevant bit is that UKAD sees drugs as a Strict Liability offence - ie they don't care how they got there; there's no need to prove intent.

If UKAD somehow find a way to ban Benn then of course the Board will follow. But I'm not even sure how that happens unless UKAD are holding a positive test that no-one is talking about (which is possible).

didnt dillion whyte end up in some type of similar situation with the wbc and the british authorities, he was facing a lifetime ban and then suddenly hes totally clear despite testing positive for steroids and not for the first time either, tyson fury threatened to sue and they folded saying it wasnt in the best interests of anyone to go to court (too expensive) even tho they said they believe hes guilty, so benn could be on to a winner, few months down the line they will settle and everyone will move on

It's a corrupt sport. There have been many cheaters who have gotten away with it. Some didn't.

Don't know if the media is doing a piss poor job reporting this case. They're not doing their own investigations. Nobody knows whether he is indeed guilty or innocent. How can this simple case be so difficult to have a conclusive outcome? It boggles the mind in this day and age when there have been far more complicated cases than this.

Everybody knows he's guilty. The WBC report says he did fail the tests. He submitted a 270 page document aimed at proving the drug testers contaminated his samples. When this didn't work, his team quickly typed up a food diary claiming he was eating nearly 40 eggs a week and the WBC accepted that as a plausible reason for the failed tests.
Problem is, we know that isn't the case because;
a) he's said himself in multiple interviews that he was on a vegetarian diet with only the occasional omelet,
b) Clomifene is banned in UK farming so wouldn't have been in the eggs he supposedly ate so many of
He's a drug cheat, plain and simple. Anyone that believes otherwise is a gullible idiot
