His reputation Is vicious his work rate and power is ridiculous and his chin is granite.

He doesn't just stop these guys he takes they're hearts.

Wonder how much of the Dadashev bout these opponents think of when going to war with Matias.

He hits hard and doesn’t stop. He’s a machine from rounds 1-9, then he tires, but can usually do enough damage that it’s not noticed. That was looking like a fight of the year candidate for a minute

I've never seen him tire the only time he looked off was right after the Dadashev death and he corrected that defeat by stopping his lone lose.

Some opponents like Ponce think they can catch Matais easily, because he's a come forward fighter. But he makes subtle moves to avoid getting hit with too many consecutive shots & always looks for the opportunity to land big shots of his own.

Don't know what it says about him, but it exposes NSB and a lot of the media that he doesn't get the same hype like Loma did.

His opponents seem to be well aware of his brutality now.

Because one had two gold medals before turning pro?

Not to mention he fought Orlando Salido, Gary Russell Jr, Rocky Martinez, Nicholas Walters, Jorge Linares, Jose Pedraza, Anthony Crolla, Teofimo Lopez, and Richard Commey by the time he was 8 years into his career. That's 9 world titlists (not "regular" or interim or IBO; top belts of the big 4 or Ring only). Matias is 8 years into his career and has 20 pro fights, 0 world titlists. Even the non-titlists on Loma's resume like Luke Campbell, Jason Sosa, Miguel Marriaga, and Masayoshi Nakatani are better than anybody Matias has fought.
