Matías does not have the prettiest style or the best defence, nor the heavyest hands, but the nonstop pressure he brings on along with his conditioning & strength is enough to break down & overwhelm anyone. Ponce's mistake was to come out swinging with everything he had & fight Matías's fight.

I said Matias would break him down and predicted an 8th round TKO. Thought it would take that long. I also said it'd be a war for as long as it lasted. Can't complain. PR tiene otro campeon. Needs a new promoter though. The press here in PR did him WRONG. Glad he won 'cause now, I'm sure he'll get the attention he deserves. #ElOrgulloDeMaternillo

Great fight. It came down to the fact that Matias could take Ponce's best shot but Ponce couldn't take Matias'.
Ponce fought the fight that made him 30-0 but that was exactly the wrong fight against a guy like Matias.

He doesn’t have the grit be be a world champion
Yes sir. That’s why Ponce is a pos. Once he got tired he said I quit. If he didn’t try to blast Matias at the beginning I would have thought the fight was fixed.

So based on this logic, do you also consider Chavez a pos for quitting against Oscar? Or Oscar a pos for quitting against Pac? Or Morales a pos for quitting against pac?

No. Those guys tried. Ponce wasn’t hit at the end. He just quit when he couldn’t stop Matias without injuring himself. Ponce had no intention of getting in a war. He just wanted to sucker punch Matias and get him out of there. Matias should have hit that bi tch on the stool.

Yeah, I don’t think you can make a strong argument that any of those 3 guys tried harder in those specific fights than Ponce did last night. Seems like your perception on who’s a pos for quitting is based more on who does the quitting than anything else.

Lol did you really just say sucker punch in regard to a sanctioned boxing match? Only instances of that actually happening I can recall are James Butler and Andre Dirrell's uncle vs Uzcategui. Ponce didn't even quit himself it was his corner's decision... Quit posting you are annoying as **** and constantly grasping at straws
