Derrick is not the main trainer though he’s just another side chick Josh has hired in for now like Garcia, Daddy Angel Fernandez is still running the show.

I hope he's right . We've seen the best of him so far v Usyk last time and the worst of him v Ruiz but we won't know if Derrick is right until the opposition improves. and at nearly 34 he's no spring chicken. So do we really get a Whyte rematch when these questions need answering ?

OK Derrick, you are the expert. Two things I've noticed is (1) your boy lifts weights a lot, & it makes him slow & stiff. Get AJ to STOP living weights. (2) your boy is hyper-sensitive. You have to drill into him, people will murder you online, so, roll with it. Do you think ATGs like Liston, Duran, Frazier, LaMotta, Mayweather or Pacquaio could give a flying F%%% what people thought about them?

Nothing to see here, new trainers say the same thing. No amount of trainer changes will get him to a point where he can beat a Usyk or a Fury and those fight will always test his mental strength and that seems to be where his weakness is now, that and his chin. His measuring stick now is Deontay Wilder not Franklin. Both he and Wilder have a lot to prove to gauge where they both are at this stage in their careers. Beating Franklin or Whyte proves absolutely nothing.

Of course not. How you expect an inactive, drunk, accident prone guy to ever show us his best?

The experiences a fighter goes through effects their performances and how they train 'A loss from a pure performance perspective, does not make you a worst fighter than before'.

Joshua right now is a vastly experienced fighter 'Joshua is actually a more experienced fighter than Tyson Fury at fighting at World & Elite level'. He has beaten every single fighter he has ever stepped inside the professional ring with 'Accept Usyk'.

Joshua has wins over every single fighter he has ever fought 'Usyk is the only fighter he has not beaten'.

But in the two fights with Usyk, out of the two fighters 'It was Joshua who improved the most in the rematch'.

Joshua has to take the positives from all these experiences 'He is a extremely tested and experienced fighter now, and in my opinion he has no bad loses'.

The loss to Ruiz Junior I, is overrated. He still decked Ruiz Junior in that fight 'And when he was decked himself, he got up fought backed and tired to turn that fight around'.

Joshua did not win that fight, but he won the rematch 'And Ruiz Junior has been a mess since that fight'.

Without a shadow of a doubt, Joshua is still a threat to the Top Heavyweights in this era. Is Tyson Fury getting better? Is Usyk getting better? Fury has not fought at Elite level skill for skill since Wladimir Kiltschko.

Deontay Wilder was a elite level fight, but in terms of pure boxing ability 'Wilder is not a elite level fighter'. No matter how highly I rate Wilder 'Which is very highly'. Skill for skill Wilder does not have elite level boxing skills.

Note: So the way I see it is like this. Anthony Joshua is still a threat, he is still a top heavyweight. Joshua has a near psychopathic work ethic, when you combined that with his physical attributes and determination to learn 'In this era of Heavyweights, that type of fighter is a threat'.

I have already stated in on previous threads. If the 3rd fight with Usyk was called to be made 'I would back Joshua once again to beat Usyk, for exactly the same reasons as before'. The trend and trajectory of that match up is 'That Joshua was improving and getting better at fighting Usyk, there is a high-likely hood that this trajectory will continue'.

Boxing is not quite a measurable sport, not the same way you can measure analyse performances in other sports. Once you reach a certain level, you then have to stay in the game 'You got to be rough, mean and have a level of readiness'.

And potentially that is the side of Joshua game, his composure that is going to improve. He is training with fighters who are above him, Joshua has never been in this type of environment 'Joshua at-least is doing all he can, he is pushing to somehow bridge the gap to elite Champions in the division'.

Will Joshua get there? Well we are going to find out 'There is no easy way out'.

I think Joshua has done well. He consistently fights the best fighters - up until this latest fight. He's always going to have that dodgy chin. I mean Tyson Fury with Joshua's chin would have lost a few times by now as well. Wilder would have more losses too. There's only so much you can do when you can't take many shots.

Also Tyson Fury - has fought two top-10 fighters in 7 years : Wilder and Whyte. Is Joshua really doing that badly in comparison?

Usyk is the one with most of the belts and he's only been in the HW division for 5 minutes. Fury couldn't even get in the ring with Joshua - twice now. Wilder has admitted he was offered more to fight AJ than Fury... All these guys talk and they didn't even want to go for the belts when Joshua had them. Now we are to believe they will get in the ring with Usyk...

It's the other guys who need to do better

Joshua has had a good career but he is missing a signature win. Usyk, Wilder & Fury. He is 0-2 so far. He has good wins over a 41 year old Klitschko, Parker, Takam, Povetkin, Whyte & Ruiz. Wilder never fought any of those guys. Fury beat Klitschko & Whyte. Joshua is currently the #5 HW in my eyes.

Inability to take risk in the ring is AJ major issues. Counting him out of Fury or Wilders fight is an ineptitude of the game. He sure can beat Wilder, it depend on his discipline and risk taking efforts. He's sparred fury before. Reaction in the face of adversity (GRIT) is what make Derrick James fighters different. Errol vs Shawn was no joke, Jermell vs Castano wasn't joke but composure and Staying disciple gave the staple victory. With that in place, AJ with his experience has all d chance against any current heavyweight. Loosing to Floyd of HW doesn't make less of him. No one has is resume with regards to iopponent s quality
