AJ vs Wilder bigger than Fury vs Usyk?

Eddie Hearn has said several times that a fight between his man AJ and Tyson Fury would do bigger numbers than the undisputed clash between Fury and Usyk, and I think Eddie is probably correct about that.

However, both Hearn and Frank Smith, the CEO of Matchroom, have gone on record saying that they believe a fight between AJ and Wilder would also make more money than Fury and Usyk. Sam Jones, Joe Joyce's manager, said the same thing late last year and a couple of Youtube boxing channels I sub to are agreeing with this.

Personally, I find it difficult to believe that a fight between 2 ex world title holders, with no titles at stake, would be financially bigger than an undisputed heavyweight title fight between 2 undefeated champions.

    What do you guys think?

I doubt it but nobody knows really. Wilder vs AJ would have been bigger in 2017 but Hearn and PBC failed to deliver it, maybe he should talk about that instead of running his mouth about business that he isn’t involved in.

Fury vs AJ is still probably the biggest fight in the division financially.

there seems to be a view that fury usyk could be fairly boring and tactical for a large part, cant say that about the other matchup

Yeah, there's no way a battle between two fighters who lost title fights twice in a row, outsells a British champion's bid to bring all of the belts back to Britain.

I am a boxing fan, not financial advisor. i don`t care about the money, Fury - Usyk is the biggest fight than can be made in division.

I don`t care about Fury - Joshua. Joshua -Wilder is interesting.

            I agree 100%.
If I was told I had to pay for one PPV and was given the choice of Fury / Usyk or AJ / Wilder.
Without hesitation i'd chose AJ / Wilder.

              Maybe in 2018.

Only a Fury fight can be bigger than another Fury fight.

I don't know man, Fury has been with Kronk for a good while now. In the spirit of the late, great trainer, Emmanuel Steward and carried on by his nephew Sugar Hill, Kronk gym is about KOs!

No chance Fury - Usyk is boring. Only casuals think so.

Joshua vs Wilder would shatter records ,that’s just a fact . No other fight could generate that clash of styles and public interest. Warren is not a great promoter and Arum is like night of the living dead ,neither guys comes close to a Eddie Hearn who would also play a major factor on the build up because of Wilders history with team Joshua etc etc . It would prove Joshua doesn’t need a belt to still get the biggest fight possible, those who can’t see that are living under a rock .

Of course it’s would change if either takes another loss from now till then .
