I agree it should be zero debate Wood was gone.
I can't believe that decision is being disputed.

I don’t think so.
10 seconds left on the clock, ahead on points, the champion. Atleast give him the chance.
How many times have we seen fighters get knocked down heavily to the point where the stoppage seems imminent and they don’t get stopped?
Hiw many times have said fighter gone on to win?
I don’t see it as a terrible decision but I think he definitely should have atleast give him the chance to continue. I’ve seen way heavier knockdowns than that occur and they’ve managed to recover.

Do you know that Lara has More power than Navarrete?
Thats the word of a former rival of Navarrete AND sparring mate of Mauricio.
Wood was total finished.Comment

It doesn’t matter.
He still atleast should have got a chance to continue under those circumstances.Comment

No, I think in a World title fight? With 10 seconds to go in the round 'That fight should of not been stopped'.
But under pressure I can understand why the fight was stopped. Boxing is not a game.
Wood done extremely well to get up, and signaled to the referrer that he wanted to fight on.
Note: I also agreed with Wilder being stopped vs Fury in their second fight. You do not stop a fighter like Wilder, while he is still on his feet and fighting back 'No matter how futile his efforts seemed, Wilder was still trying to win'.
These are World Champions in World title fights, you can to let them fight until there is no more 'They are gladiators'.
But I do understand from a compassionate view point why both fights were stopped by the corner etc.

Nobody really is saying anything wrong on this thread 'I personally don't think the fight should of been stopped, this is a world title fight'.
Lee Wood was a world world champion, fighting to defend his belts 'He done well to get up, and signaled clearly to the referee that he wanted to continue'.
There was 10 seconds left in the round 'Under those circumstances you do not stop the fight'.
This is boxing, it is a combat sport, fighters can get hurt 'And they do get hurt in fights, but they train to be gladiators'.
They train to fight through these situations, and show courage while facing consequences.
Boxing is not a safe sport, people need to accept this. All the people who wanted the fight to continue are saying nothing wrong.
If every single fight is stopped soon as a fighter shows that they are not machines, then that is not good for the sport.
Let the fighters fight, that is what they train for. They don't train to be pulled out of fights, while they are still trying to win.
It is not about, not caring for the fighter. It is about freedom, to fight for their cause 'Lee Wood was still in that fight, yes he was hurt badly but? It was a awesome effort from him getting up, that man was fighting for his titles'.
I understand compassionately why the fight was stopped, but the situation is 'This was a World title fight'.
These are defining moments of a fighters career.
