First, permission and approval are different things.
Second, the question was not about the fighter giving the advisor approval. The question was why the fighter needs the advisor's permission.

This makes it sound very clearly like Haymon is more manager than advisor. Yet he has no license to do so.

Good fight for sure but Fulton said what the majority of us have assumed for years.....Haymon gives the "yes" or "no". The protected boys club keeps gettin exposed, ie Spence and Davis and others in his stable who are given fights once, MAYBE twice a year. Seems pretty obvious that besides likin ********, g@y@ss Al likes to tell his boys what to do, when to do it and how to do it....sounds like hes a voyeur too.Last edited by El_Mero; 02-17-2023, 12:26 AM.Comment

Shout out for all the great US contenders who went overseas to claim their first belt - Hagler, Crawford, Spence
but extra props for Fulton who is ALREADY a champion 2 belt holder and going overseas.
and shame on US promoters for not adequately promoting lower weight fighters so they can make the money they should in the USComment

Fulton is brave for going to Japan for this fight. Not like he had a choice bc the money is over there anyway, but he accepted and deserves credit for willing to test himself against one of the most dangerous fighters on the planet in enemy territory. This should be a very entertaining, high-level chess match between two elite fighters. Can't wait for this one.Comment

Stephen Fulton Jr. embraced a rematch with Brandon Figueroa late last year because he wanted to silence skeptics who've questioned his victory in their 122-pound title unification fight.

How powerful is Al Haymon to his guys? How does one need the “blessings” of a promoter? It’s insane.
When Amir Khan signed with Haymon, he was reminded to thank him after a fight.
