Canelo fought Bivol and proceeded to lose. Prior to that fight, would you have accused him of ducking Bivol?
At this point, Canelo knows Beterbiev might beat him hence the obvious no interest.

All that said, how do you call him a bum when he unified the 168 division (first man ever) then fought Bivol despite losing?

A paycut for Canelo is still more than what almost any other fighter in the sport makes for any fight. He probably could care less with all the bread he's made and still got coming in from everything other than boxing. Probably doing it for the pride of his people. Ryder deserves his shot and no offense to him, but he's probably the safest option for Canelo coming back from surgery. Should be entertaining for as long as it lasts.
