If Benavidez beat's Plant, and chance's are that he will, a fight's against Andrade, and Morrell should silence his detractor's.
More importantly it would really force Canelo hand to accept a fight against him, as he wouldn't be able to claim that Benavidez hasn't fought anyone.

John Ryder is probably the "weakest" link @ 168! If Bivol beats Canelo @ 168, he becomes pretty irrelevant overnight! That would definitely force him to fight the other BIG DOGS @ 168, just to get a belt back! I just hope they fight each other, and not sit around and wait on Canelo!

None of these fighter's should be placing their boxing career's on hold in the hopes of landing a fight with Canelo.
All of the top fighters at 168, not named Canelo should be fighting be fighting each other, in order to have the fans talking about them.
If they win significant fight's, that 'll generate a buzz around there name, and the boxing fans will be clamoring for Canelo to fight them.
Canelo isn't going to fight a lot of these fighter's, he doesn't have 10 fight's left in him, hell he might not even have 5 more fight's in his career.
Regardless of his saying that he has a few more year's, I think he stated 5 more year's, his weary face, and tired fighting style as of late.
The sign's are all there that he is nearing the end of his boxing career, if you watch his last two fight's, and his post fight interview of the GGG fight, you can't miss it.

I do think that Benavidez is going to put a beating on Plant late in the fight, for making him wait so long to fight him.
That said I don't like all of the **** that David, and his dad spit out at Plant, they came off like a ****** pair of thugs.
They've obviously learned nothing from one of the members of their family (Jose), being shot in the leg, and having his boxing career ruined.
Now if I'm wrong, and Calub somehow is able to defeat David then the Benavidez clan is going to be embarrassed to no end.
Due to the fact that Jose just lost his second fight, and Valenzuela just got knocked out, losing his undefeated record in the process (both in 2022).
As far as Benavidez fighting Beterbiev, if that happens late 2023, or early 2024, Beterbiev's straighter power punches bust right through Benavidez's looping combinations, and stop him within the first half of the fight.

Look, I'm no Plant fan. On the contrary, I don't like him very much (admittedly, on a superficial level; most probably I'd change my mind after talking to him in person, as people often hide behind a "bad guy" persona). But between those two, I feel that Caleb has the superior boxing, and perhaps tactical intelligence. He could find a way to get Benavidez tired as the fight goes on, and take advantage of that at the end. Just a perception of course, but I'm sure it'll be a great fight to watch.
