we know that the olympics didnt ban America from any of the wars, basically ever, but now the Russia-Ukraine war should be "bad" according to the olympic committe? THe olympics has enough problems with corrupt judging and everything else, perhaps they should direct their attention to that

I don't criticise Wlad for saying this. I'd be angry and upset if my country got invaded too. But taking the emotional out of it, it's an unfair, pointless approach. It won't affect the war at all, just take away the dreams of some kids who did nothing wrong.

It will affect the war. Because it will further ostracize Russia, it will further create the distance between Russia and the civilized world. And on this contrast Ukraine will be the good guy everyone is rooting for. And give weapons against the ostracized angry, derailed bear.

The comments on this thread only validate a view that boxing fans are hardly PhD candidates. And, no, war is not just politics anymore, it's not the same as debating a trade policy. War transcends politics.
