You guys need to go on over to Sports Illustrated and read Mannix's column about why the fight is difficult to make this year. Summary:

-Timing: Bivol wanted to do it this spring, so he could face Canelo in September. But Beterbiev is a ****** and choses to observe Ramadan. Bivol wants Beterbiev, but it doesn't sound like he's willing to give up the Canelo rematch entirely in exchange for the undisputed.

-Money: The money isn't there to do it in the USA or Canada. Can't do a unification in Russia right now. They would probably need a middle-eastern country to foot the bill. But it's hard to see that happening when Top Rank is firm the fight must be on ESPN, but the relationship with the Saudis is Hearn who will definitely want it on DAZN.

It sounds like the fight isn't happening. Not this year.

Perfect, then he will have no excuse to not fight Benavidez.

I don't know. Maybe? Would it be weird if he did?

Bivol ain't very strong guy and got backed easily by smaller Canelo. He couldn't answer Canelo's body shots in R9 and lost the round. He missed tons of punches when Canelo was on defensive mode. That fight also partially exposed Bivol not only Canelo.

Now, watch that video. If Canelo walks him down with combinations, jabs and head movement instead of loaded up arm punches, he beats Bivol at 168. He won't be gassed out and Bivol will be even weaker. Canelo was looking ***in cool.

Wooooooooowwwww i know right?! Wth i feel like i been bamboozeled after watching that video…. Yeah Bivol ain’t gonna do sh.it at 68 with canelo then will lose again in the trilogy at 75 then canelo can finally meet Beterbiev for undisputed at 75! Living phuckin Legend that man is

Beterbiev is easier job. He is caveman. At least Bivol can box. Canelo will beat Bivol at 168 with "correct strategy" in September. I am sure about that.

this is the stage that canelo is at now, one of them fighters who is getting in the way of better match ups. hopefully they give him some step aside money, noone is interested in watching him hit air and elbows for 12 rounds against bivol again
