From the battle that Yarde gave Beterbiev and how he was able to hurt him as well as take it, I don't see Smith withstanding that type of punishment and assault. Cinnabon isn't the most athletic or strongest puncher, but he gave Callum a thorough ass whooping.
With all due respect Smith's resume is more impressive than Benavidez's. There is no shame in losing to Canelo. Smith at 175 is a whole new beast this could be a good fight.

I haven't seen Beterbiev knock a guy with 1 punch like this. He doesn't knock them dead. always accumulation.

Smith is going to land this punch on Beterbiev too. I wonder how Artur takes it.

You could argue that Smith was weight drained in the Ryder and Canelo fight, which he also had something like a 5-6 week camp for.

Anyway, he seems to have got some snap back in in his punches since moving up. He’ll give Beterbiev a good fight
I don't have an agenda as none of them are fighters that I root for. You can easily see in the threads leading up to the fight that I didn't want Yarde to win because I didn't want that to mess up the undisputed championship between Bivol and Beterbiev. But, I also wasn't openly cheering for either guy. As I stated before, Groves was a little above average at best, he lost to Froch twice, Smith, and Badou Jack, and the rest of his resume is mid-tier to below average domestic level fighters.

As a matter of fact, what's Groves best win, pretty much lost everytime he stepped up. Oh, I guess that you put an awful lot of weight on the Eubank win, its was ok, but like I stated, mostly domestic level fighters.

Easy, easy, easy, did I say easy money for Beterbiev, even if he was 42 years old.

I get it, but Cinnabon actually was willing to fight Smith. Ginger wasn't willing to move up when Benavidez was the champion, but jumped at the opportunity when David lost his belt outside the ring.

There is shame in losing in THAT way to Canelo.

Callum showed ZERO heart in that fight and looked terrified.

Groves best win is DeGale, Murray, Eubank or Chudinov.

You think Yarde beats Smith, who’s his best win then?

It's not that he lost to Canelo. It's how he lost to Canelo. He turtled up the entire fight. A 6'3" natural light heavy let a 5'8" natural middleweight beat him all over the ring with very little resistance. Smith has done nothing at 175 to warrant top ranking. He should at least have to fight and beat the likes of Marcus Browne, Joe Smith or Lyndon Arthur.

The same George Groves who was flat-lined twice by Old Man Froch?
