You looked it up, GREAT! I watched both fights at the time and he only got flattened once.

Nice try though, downplaying Smith’s wins to make him out to be worse than he is.
Smith is a fraud. That's obvious from the way he turtled up for twelve rounds in the Canelo fight. Groves retired at age 30 immediately after Smith stopped him. That tells me he was diminished and already had one foot out the door. Old Man Froch smoked Groves twice. I believe one was a ref stoppage after Groves got clocked and couldn't defend himself and the other was when Froch turned his lights out. Groves was never elite in my book. His best win was Eubank Jr. Think about that for a moment.

Sure Beterbiev is the favorite but to count out Smith, who is really in his prime against an aging champion like Beterbiev is a bit foolish. I'll bet you thought Yarde was a bum who would be KO'd in 3 rounds right?
It's boxing and everyone has a chance of course. You've said it yourself - Beterbiev is an aging champion and it's like GGG scenario all over again. My prediction is if Beterbiev fights Smith in 2023. Of course Callum is dangerous and full respect to his accomplishments but I just don't see what he can bring to the table. Yarde did great versus Beterbiev and eventually got KO'd as everyone was expecting. To be honest I feel sorry for him as he took a lot of brutal punishment and this will most likely reflect on his future performances.

You think Yarde beats Smith, who’s his best win then?
As I stated, mid-tier fighters. Yarde showed me what I needed to see with the way he fought Beterbiev with no fear, unlike Smith, who fought Cinnabon like he was scared to death.

A Canelo fight he was completely unprepared for. That fight was made for Canelo not Smith. He basically sold his belt.

They’ve never delivered for Callum, ITV/Sauerland did far more for his career than Matchroom ever have. The Groves fight was by far the biggest payday of his career.

IMO, his decision to enter the WBSS instead of following Hearn’s plan to fight DeGale on PPV is the reason they’ve never fully got behind him. Eddie doesn’t like to share his toys.
Yarde is with Queensbury. We know Arum and Warren have a good working relationship. Matchroom would have to win a purse bid to bring it to the UK. It might be easier just to work with Arum to get it done.

Nobody made Smith take that fight. if he wasn't ready he shouldn't have taken it. There's noone to blame but Smith.

They brought Lomachenko over for Luke Campbell, that fight makes more money in the UK than it does in Canada. Warren backs his fighters more than Hearn does.

That’s nonsense mate, you can’t blame the fighter in those situations. It’s his team’s responsibility to give him the best opportunity, they should have told Callum not to take that fight and wait until May. Just like BJS’ team did- they had the best interests of their fighter. A fighter will rarely ever say no to an opportunity like that, I can guarantee BJS wanted to take it too.

A lot of people were just chasing a pay cheque that night and Eddie happily sacrificed Callum to sign Canelo. I get it, it makes business sense but it also reaffirms my point that Matchroom have never delivered for Callum Smith.

let's be completely honest here, Yarde was and is a complete bum of the highest order. getting that out of the way.

Ryder and Canelo are very small, slippery fighters with elite upperbody and head movement. Beterbiev is completely stiff without any head movement. He eats flush shots every single round. He is very different from Ryder and Canelo.

His fight with Callum will end up looking different as well.

Because Arum didn't want to go to ourse bid. He didn't want Lomachenko to not be on a Top Rank card. I can't think of another time they've done business like that together.

No, a fighter has an option to take a fight or not take a fight. I can't feel bad for someone doing something they willingly signed up for.

Loma would have cost a lot more than Beterbiev would. There’s no way Buatsi gets sent to Canada.

Fighters fight, they don’t do the negotiations, they ask where, when and how much? Callum’s team done him a disservice allowing him to take that fight.

He'll be alright. I don't see what situation he's been in or currently in that's bad for him.

I’d just like to see them back him. I don’t think he beats Beterbiev regardless but would be nice to see him finally get a big fight in the UK.
