seriously - it would really help if every comment on here was saying "No way!" - the message gets back to journalists and at least the decent ones with a spine can ask the awkward questions to the promoters on their next shows

i don't know how to do it but someone put a poll up - who should Bivol and Artur fight next - guarantee that Smith gets no more than 5% votes.

the same odds Bivol got against Canelo then

This is starting to look exactly like the Stevenson/Kovalev era.... F u c k those promoters ... Only a Purse Bid order will solve that ...

Nobodies? Give me a break. Beterbiev is arguably the #1 LHW in the world and has been taking on whoever is willing to face him. Don't blame the guy for boxing politics preventing the top guys from always fighting each other.

You do realize that boxers can improve, especially under new trainers that make them more complete fighters. On top of that, Smith has looked more comfortable and a bigger puncher at LHW. Sure Beterbiev is the favorite but to count out Smith, who is really in his prime against an aging champion like Beterbiev is a bit foolish. I'll bet you thought Yarde was a bum who would be KO'd in 3 rounds right?

PURE B.S. No one wants to see Callum Smith turtle up again like he did against Canelo. We want Bivol vs. Beterbiev at 175, nothing else. Fans need to start putting pressure on Bob to stop the bollocks.

I totally agree. Yarde performed much better than 95% of people thought he would even if he did get stopped and Smith is more experienced than Yarde and has looked good under Buddy McGirt so I'm looking forward to it. So many critics here of not only Smith but also Beterbiev which is ridiculous. All these trolling keyboard warriors really need to find something constructive to do with their time.

Yarde would not knock Smith out at all!
He’s never been down, only lost once. Although the Ryder fight was close.

Yarde has lost 3 times now and his best win is at domestic level

Please tell me what level is Smith's best win? I 've only seen him in with 1 non-domestic level and that was Cinnabon, who was also the smaller man, but beat Callum all over the ring. Groves was a little above average at best, and as I said he barely survived against FXCKING RYDER. From the battle that Yarde gave Beterbiev and how he was able to hurt him as well as take it, I don't see Smith withstanding that type of punishment and assault. Cinnabon isn't the most athletic or strongest puncher, but he gave Callum a thorough ass whooping.

Groves is his best win by far, Groves who was number 1 at the weight at the time. Don’t try and downplay that win to suit your own agenda.

You could argue that Smith was weight drained in the Ryder and Canelo fight, which he also had something like a 5-6 week camp for.

Anyway, he seems to have got some snap back in in his punches since moving up. He’ll give Beterbiev a good fight

I actually really like this fight if Canelo and Bivol are on track for a May showdown why not match Smith against Beterbiev in the interim it will be a good scrap. Smith is a very good fighter I think at 175 his best days might still be ahead.
