Sure, more people bought the PPV's. I won't argue that, the proof is in the pudding.
Well, one critical method for measuring customer satisfaction is repeat business. And 'depth of repeat'. You like something, you buy it again.

Mayweather sold more in this fight than he sold in his previous fight. The metrics speak for themselves.

    Thanks for that perspective, though.

Not really surprised by these figures, I mean Mayweather is American and pretty much fightin at home in Las Vegas. Pacquiao is fighting half way around the world.

You have to remember that lower weight classes generally dont sell as well as the higher ones and Pacquiao's popularity has only peaked over the last couple of years as he's come up through the weight classes, so its slighly unfair comparing the fights before that.

Look how similar the fights with Hatton are though, despite Pacquiao's being during a recession and without an American fighter on show.

It's not even questionable who the more exciting fighter is and you can do polls anywhere on who is more popular or who people would rather pay to watch, because Pacquiao will win them all day long.

I hope you keep this post and compare the Mayweather/Marquez and Pacquiao/Cotto sales for this year, because I have a feeling you will be eating your words.

Mayweather better hope Pacquiao doesn't out sell him.

          Nothing!

Every day it's the same thing -- people arguing about how many PPV's were sold for a particular fight. I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would care about this ****.

PS: Slash sells more records than Allan Holdsworth, so he must be a better guitarist, right? No. It just means the public are ******.

Why would I be eating words on an A/B vs C/D comparison? Actually, anyone with an ounce of marketing research or econometric experience would tell you that an A/B vs C/D comparison is among the least reliable and applicable. Too many moving variables. It's a bit unfortunate that you don't already know that.

A better comparison is to see how Floyd vs Cotto would measure against Pacquiao vs Cotto.

No is just that people tune it to see if some one can knock out money mayweather. is funny how every time mayweather fights people think he is going to get knock out LoL
