not really surprised. the fight hasn't sparked enough general interest. those 1,4 are just common ppv buyers. the gate was excellent though. 700$ per ticket average, and they still had over 13.000 visitors.
How is 1.4 common ppv buyers? 1.4 million ppvs buys has only be done about 10 times in the history of boxing. Unless you mean 1.4 million is the common amount of ppv buyers for Floyd Mayweather.

I’m pretty sure he’s really not that bad in real life, but his uses this money may “character” to make a lot of money. And cong**** to him for that.
OK... now the real story is out.
You are paying to watch skill and greatness. If he were to lose, that would be bonus for you.

But the reason you feel that you get your money's worth is because you realize that you are watching top-echelon skills.

Floyd and Pac are racking up million buyrates so regularly, that people forget how rare that really is. How few guys in the history of boxing have done it.

They'll be reminded after La Batalla II.

          • Wow you mean an American fighter sells more in the US than a non-American? You don't say.

I wonder how many people watch Pacquiao in the Philipines and worldwide. I guarantee more people watch Pac fight than Floyd.

The PPV buys would exceed EVERY Pacquiao fight bar none.

His presence in the sport benefits a lot of people.

Side note: who paid the sanction fee for Mayweather-Ortiz?

Okay, I shouldn’t have said seeing him lose is the ONLY reason we order his fights, but it is the major part of the reason. Boxing to me is a lot more than just seeing the sweet science of the sport or the skill levels of the fighters. My friends and I have an emotional connection to certain fighters and that is why we order their fights. We aren’t denying Floyd’s skill, but that doesn’t have to be the sole reason of watching him fight.

                    • The average gate for PBF's last three Vegas fights is 9.0M
The average gate for Pac's last two Vegas fights is 8.85M (and will probably pass PBF after the JMM fight)

The average PPV for PBF's last two fights is 1.2 (pending the Ortiz numbers)
The average PPV for Pac's last two fights is 1.23

Obviously PBF dominates Pac and is a much better person.
