Barrera was old when they fought. Body was taxed. He fought true Mexican style his entire career while Marquez fought in nothing but boring fights until Pac. People forget that Marquez Gainer was perhaps the ugliest, most boring fight of all time. That’s how Marquez spent the majority of his career. Boring counter puncher.

Marquez finished his career as an action fighter tho.

Barrera does get pretty underrated by fans these days, mainly because Morales and Marquez both have a win over Pac, while Pac destroyed Barrera and beat him again a few years later.

But Barrera had a great career. He was counted out at least three times in his career, but came back to have good runs after losing to Jones, Morales 1, and Pac.
