Chavez Jr. Motivated To Challenge Sergio Martinez

Junior middleweight prospect Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is very motivated to challenge WBC champion Sergio Martinez. WBC president Jose Sulaiman recently revealed that Chavez Jr. would become the mandatory challenger to Martinez in 2010, and the fight will be ordered by the sanctioning body in the next couple of months. Martinez is a massive step up for Jr. I think he will lose badly but I would give him alot of credit for stepping in there with a world class opponent and maybe the best fighter in the world at 154.

Sergio will give him a boxing lesson! You would think after 40 fights you'd step it up a bit!

I agree. Jumping from tomato cans to Sergio Martinez is gonna be tough for the kid.

If you think you can handle it Jr, let's see it.
It'll be a great win if he pulls it off.

That's a bad move. He should face a good opponent, then Martinez.

He has 0 amateur fights. Imagine putting a baseball player in the Major Leagues without at least some Minor League A, AA, or AAA experience?

I think Jr is doing great and is being brought up very carefully matched against his own level fighters. This is his amateur career right now. If anything, John Duddy will be like his first real pro fight. Martinez would be his second.

SO what? Wilfredo Vazquez JR had 0 ama fighst also, and he have only 16 fights and he has face tougher opposition than Chavez JR.

They are jst feeding him bums, till they cant cash on him anymore and they have to put him with a good fighter that will beat his ass!!!!

But we had an argument the other day about how GBP feeds their fighters tough opponents too soon, and you were defending Top Rank cause they bring up there fighters carefully.
