Crawford got two-pieced, wobbled and dropped by Kavaliauskas. And that was early on.

Boots excels early on, and frankly I'm not sold on Crawford taking a shot from him. Especially not with the age gap and Crawford slowing, getting touched by Avanesyan.

I'd say that Spence is the less difficult fight actually. Crawford is a much tougher fight, not just for Ennis, but for anyone.

        This - 100%!

Ugas did a great impersonation of a heavy bag with legs against Spence.

People forget that you take damage from championship-level fights. If Porter HAD Not fought Spence before Crawford, he very well may have beat Crawford. He PROBABLY would not have had the towel thrown in for sure. After the physical damage of the Spence fight, coupled with another year or two of aging ... Shawn Porter ended up with the towel thrown in with Crawford. Could easily have been a different outcome two years prior without the Spence beat-down thrown in. Also, Crawford has not had the wear and tear on him that Porter had, fighting higher-level fights going in than Crawford. If Porter had had Crawford's previous six fights to their fight, he would have come in in much better shape, due to fighting lighter, smaller guys .... and taking much less pounding.

That said, Crawford and Spence both have to be favored, even against Ennis ... or anyone else ... until said someone can get in there and expose them. I'd favor Crawford to find a way just like I would favor Spence to find a way vs. Ennis.

Ennis IS however the immediate future of the division (unless he would get battered badly fighting one of those guys).

I agree, most on here can’t SEE. Crawford is easy to hit in the first 4-6 rounds. Ennis hits too hard to just stand there and trade. Crawford is dangerous after the 6th round not to mention “HES OLD” and is slowing down but his ring IQ is at its peak.
Either way, I guarantee that Ennis’s “people” no longer want anything to do with either Crawford or Spence after Ennis’s last outing.

They both get hit. That's why it's 50/50, because of WHY they get hit.

Boots slowed down by the 7th. Spence preserves shots and ratchets it up late (Ugas). That's what Chukhadzhian tried to exploit but didn't have the power. Meanwhile we saw that Chukhadzhian took some bombs from Boots and never went down. Spence has one of the best chins in the game (Porter), and isn't affected by body assault, he gives it right back (Ocampo), plus he doesn't easily fall for traps (Danny Swift, Mikey, Algieri, Brook).

Crawford gets hit because he gets frustrated easy (Brook, Khan, Porter) or he gets drawn into a mistake and gets frustrated, wanting to retaliate (Gamboa, Kavaliauskas). In the Porter fight BoMac was screaming at him to calm the hell down every round. Meanwhile, Crawford appears to be packing glass, as we've seen him go Gumby on three occasions (Gamboa, Porter, Kavaliauskas). Boots has never been wobbled to that degree despite eating shots flush.

Spence is all wrong for Boots.
Crawford is 50/50 because of his temper.

Mark it down if they ever fight.

So, this is what 'Kenny Porter sees', hun?

He did not 'throw in the towel' when his son Shawn fought Errol 'the tooth' Spence.
But, he did 'throw in the towel' when his son Shawn fought Terence 'Bud' Crawford.

Now, his 'eye for talent' is telling him that a kid, 10 years Crawford's junior will beat him, but won't beat Spence....hmmm...

Well, so much for his 'eye for talent', just keep picking young prospects, and eventually you'll pick a winner to dethrone the 'ole champ' that retired his son Shawn, and finished the job that Errol Spence could not quite do.

Give credit now, to the current top-dog, where its due, because just being 'petty' is never a good look for the guy who 'threw in the towel', when his son was getting the brakes beat off him, by the guy who can't beat the current 'hot-dog prospect' who is still fighting Karen'z, Long Tall Sally, and the Little Ole Lady From Pasadena.

Somebody's PBC 'affiliation and bias' is showing.
                    you nailed it

I'm only interested if one or two of those fights are happening. You can analyze each tight to death and it won't make any difference. All that energy should be spent on helping to make those fights happen.
