For the most part he uses clever tactics that skirt the letter of the law. I thought he should have been disqualified against Cunningham.
Is Tyson Fury a dirty fighter?

I don't think any of us have never broken a law. But how often have you been arrested?
That's the line I think Fury is on. In fights, it's only against the rules if the referee calls it. And you usually get a warning.
Was Jeff Horn dirty against Pacquiao? I would argue he pushed the boundaries and the referee never called him on it, so it was ok.
I'd obviously make exceptions for removal of padding and plaster of Paris wraps etc. Doesn't matter whether you get away with that kind of stuff. You're scum for doing it. Rot in hell, Panama.Last edited by Toffee; 01-13-2023, 05:53 AM.Comment

All fighters are dirty, it's just some refs are better than others and some fighters complain more than othersComment

The only question that matters to me is what's Usyk gonna do about it?
Who's the dirtiest fighter Usyk has fought so far in his career, and what did he do to counter it? Usyk is a brilliant boxer, but doesn't really seem like the kinda guy who will fight rough in the trenches with Fury.Comment

The majority of fighters bend the rules to their favor if they can get away with it or if they can disguise it.
A fighter that fights exactly by the rules is an exception.
I would say Fury commits fouls that are within reason of what most fighters commit.Comment

Fury is a rough house fighter. There is a difference.
Rough house fighting is in my opinion, a vital part of the professional game.
If Anthony Joshua had a rough house game, Usyk would of found it even more difficult to beat him.
The main rough house tactics Fury seems to use are, wrestling on the inside. And that is it.
I don't even think Fury's rough house game is that developed. But it is developed compared to most Heavyweights active in this era.
Although from mid-long range, Joshua vs Usyk II was a higher level fight than Wilder vs Fury III.
Once Usyk & Joshua were on the inside, they did nothing. Joshua was so accommodating for Usyk on the inside.
When that was were Joshua needed to make things chaotic. A good rough house game is not about gaining points.
It is all about creating a hostile environment. When you combined a rough house game, with actual boxing 'Professional fighters are more effective'.
