Mikaela Mayer thinks Alycia Baumgardner could be in for a rude awakening. Mayer, the former unified lightweight, has a hard time seeing Michigan's Baumgardner garner the sort of publicity that their unification fight produced last October. Baumgardner defeated Mayer narrowly on points in a fight many believe was too close to call. That fight took place in London, on the undercard of the middleweight undisputed title match between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall.

Baumgardner deserves that attention, she’s only about the hottest bird in boxing

Mayer is seriously extra salty but it makes for a good build up if they have a rematch. These two interact like Jermell Charlo and Tony Harrison and play the roles very well. Funny Harrsion trains Baumgardner and so much of him has rubbed off on her. You'd think Mayer was with Charlo. Guess she don't play video games either. Keep it up ladies. Look forward to a trilogy. This is what boxing needs.

Either NSB is chopping up quotes from the same interview to make into different articles or Mayer is incredibly bitter and salty over that loss to Baumgardner.

I thought that while it was a close, competitive fight, I also thought the majority of the rounds were easy to score. I had Baumgardner ekeing it out; I think both women could have done more at different points in the fight. I enjoyed it thoroughly, what it lacked in sustained action it made up for in high stakes drama.

Look forward to the ultimate rematch, the buildup to it will be almost as good as the fight itself.

Aside from being in love with selfies, subjectively, she's got a good look, one that I see multiple times per day. She's a fine fighter and she has a way to go. She did well to edge Mayer, another fine fighter.
