  • Long time Boxing fan here. Boxing is so boring to me right now.

No good fights to be made. It's crazy to me how people are falling for the fake hype some fighters are getting. Besides spence and Crawford, there's really no real killers in boxing. Tank Davis vs Stevenson is probably the only other fight I want to see. Those are the only 4 fighters who really do stand above the rest. Please do not mention devin Haney.

The heavy weight division is nothing but bums. No good fights are being made. Anything to be excited for? Seriously.

I mean where's all the Puerto Rican fighters at? What about all the Mexican killers. Where are they at? there's very few fighters who stand above the rest. Hell even though I like tank, he was getting whooped every minute of every round by Rolly. If tank ever fights someone with a granite chin it will be a replay of Canelo VS Bivol. Canelo thought the KO would come but it never did and he lost.

Please do not mention vergil Ortiz, he'd get whooped by Ennis, who himself isn't as good as the hype he's getting. And please don't mention Ryan Garcia for the love of God. He's Amir Khan 2.0.

Am I the only one who currently thinks boxing is in a bad state? It's so boring for me right now.

I watch exciting fights all the time. They may not always be the big names, the ones hyped by promotions or even the ones with pretty unblemished records....but there are plenty of great fights being made.

    To each their own.

If you like watching bums vs bums, that's your prerogative. I like watching the best vs best. What happened to the Oscar de la Hoyas, Miguel cottos, Shane mosleys, Diego Corrales, Bernard Hopkins of the world. This is the weakest boxing has ever looked to me, EVER.

AS long as you have the promoter battles going on that robs fighters of the ability to fight the best of the best and more often, this is what you're going to get.

I'm glad to see dudes like Devin Haney & Shakur Stevenson & Vergil Ortiz & Boots Ennis who want to fight everybody, but sadly, their promoters will keep them relatively inactive and fighting "economically safe" fights.

Hopefully, Tank Davis leaving Mayweather will allow him to be more independent and fight who he wants when he wants the way Canelo does.

I mean just look at the front page. Wilder, the guy who throws windmills, is fighting Andy Ruiz. Who really weighs like 180 without all the fat on him.

Then you have another thread saying spence is scared and ducking Ronaldo Romero.

Then you have another thread saying Bivol, the best 175lber, is ready to go down to 168 to fight the 5'8" Canelo, who really should be fighting at 160 max.

These are the headlines in boxing right now. It's such a joke.

What happened to the Mike tyson, I'll F you til you love me Maggot.

What happened to the Mayweather 24/7s getting us hyped for the fights.

What happened to the Pacquiaos moving up in weight back to back knocking mofos out.

What happened to the paul Williams calling everyone out and campaigning at 147-160 at the same time.

What happened to the Margaritos loading their gloves with bricks to get the job done.

What happened to the Tyson Furys jumping in the ring "there's only oneeeee tysoooon fuuury"

What happened to the prince Naseem entrances.

Hell, at this point im starting to miss Adrien Broner.

Boxing is so boring. Just had to say my piece. Call me when shlt gets exciting again.

Man I ain’t logged onto this site or posted in years, but did for this post. Couldn’t agree more. Huge fan since the early 90s. My eyes first got into it watching guys like Mike, pea and roy. Feel blessed to have watched their careers along with the names you mentioned and others.

I’m not sure what im watching lately. Between social media fights, fights not happening, best not fighting the best, the best not being all that good vs what I’ve seen previously this sports spiraling.

really seems like this era is trying to follow the mayweather blueprint - make bank and minimize risk. Nobody wants to lose the 0. The fighters in general aren’t as hungry as previous generations.

toss in other factors like promoters getting worse, network nonsense it’s easily at its lowest point in the last 30 years.

The problem with the sport is that Fighters are getting paid too much to fight Cherry picks. Cherry picks should get you know more than 300 400k and fighting a top guy should get you a million plus. Until the economics of that change a lot of guys just ain't got to fight the best. That's the problem in the sport.

You’re right, everything is ****ed right now.

I would be interested in watching Bivol vs Beiterbiev and the Canelo vs Bivol rematch but that’s it really.

The culture of swerving all decent opponents until you are forced to fight them is pure cancer for the sport. Its ****ing over unless someone forces a UFC style system where the best are forced to fight the best.
