  • Comments Thread For: IBF Rescinds Order For Usyk-Hrgovic Mandatory Title Fight, Acknowledges WBA Next In Rotation

A major roadblock has been cleared on the road to crowning an undisputed heavyweight champion. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the IBF has formally rescinded its previous order for its number-one heavyweight contender, Filip Hrgovic to next face unified WBA/IBF/WBO heavyweight titlist Oleksandr Usyk. The fight was demanded by the sanctioning body more than two months ago but Usyk is no longer on the hook to honor that ruling, at a point when talks continue for a hoped-for showdown with lineal/WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Good to hear & Dubois is next but he is injured & it wouldn’t matter. So no reason Fury/Usyk don’t happen now…

At least some type of order is restored there to allow an undisputed HW champion. Hopefully they focus on clearing the way for Spence-Crawford fight with all the mandatories those guys have and their business troubles at the negotiating table. Those two scraps hafta happen at some point.

Frank Warren making chess moves. Eddie tried and failed to put Hrgovic in the way of Undisputed.

Usyk isn't interested in a fight with Hrgovic, whom he'd outbox comfortably by the way.

He wants the big money superfight with Fury. Win or lose, that might be his last fight, unless it's a draw and they have two fights.

Would he be interested in fighting Wilder, I don't know, but who wouldn't love to see those two battle each other
