I hope Stan recovers well, it is fine to postpone the fight till April if necessary, at least there will be other fights scheduled at the time while waiting. Benavidez vs Plant is in March while Jesse Rodriguez vs Cristian Gonzalez might become a co-main event with Vergil Ortiz Jr vs Eimantas Stanionis.

I was looking forward to the fight, but fans shouldn't blame the fighters because of an illness or an injury during camp. These things just happen.

Well, hey, maybe Crawford will fight Ortiz Jr. then.

Appendectomy is pretty minimally invasive. But I’m sure they would want him to have at least a month. I had three little holes and didn’t feel anything. Doctor cleared me to start working out in 48hrs.

I'm a Med Surg nurse of 7 years so I'm familiar.
I just it was weird how last year Ortiz had to postpone a fight for an appendectomy.
Not doubting either fighter just an interesting coincidence.
And you are correct, post op recovery is much shorter medically.
But from the nursing standpoint, he shouldn't fight any less than 3 months after that surgery.
But for an opportunity of a lifetime like this I don't blame him for going right back at it.
