Let’s get Jim Lampley back in action already

I remember he was set to call the Teo VS Kambozo fight for triller before the fight was canceled and then moved to another network. Why did his comeback stop there?

He’s the best commentator in the history of boxing and if you disagree then I legit think you’re dumb. You probably prefer Bradley getting weepy over one of his past fights that he won by robbery/head butting or Ward constantly putting down Canelo like he was somehow better lol.

He was incoherent a lot during his later broadcasts. Missing punches, saying the wrong punch, he was toast. Once he started whipping on his women stoned out of his mind, i think the writing was on the wall, time to go.

Hitting on the back of the head, you need to get DQ'd. He was out of it.

Inappropriately crying on air, too weird.

    And how could we forget?

Reminds me of that time they all saw Mayweather lose 116-112 to Castillo.

There are counter points to every claim like this.

            1. I watched the Soto fight live and while a DQ was technically the right call, IMO it was a terrible call. He didn’t spot an opening and then fire. He was flurrying with the intent of creating an opening on a completely outclassed opponent who then played up the effect of the final shot.

            2. He got teary eyed sometimes because he had a deep understanding of something that you overlooked perhaps. Like me getting pumped that Gatti destroyed Dorin in two rounds while everyone else was dissapointed they didn’t get a war. They didn’t get it that if Gatti goes rounds with this guy then he will get destroyed against anyone in the top 10. Ended up being the case anyway but that’s not the point.

            3. You’ve never said or done anything you regret? Never just doubled down n started rolling the dice over and over even though you could hear a clearer headed version of yourself saying “stfu”?

I thought DAZN missed a major opportunity not hiring some of the Ex HBO guys. They were entering the sport just as HBO was leaving so they were all available.

DAZN wanted "fresher" commentary - same as WWE cutting Jim Ross.

It was a glancing blow that barely had any effect, terrible call by Cortez, Soto got jobbed that night.

That’s one of the reason’s I loved HBO broadcasts, they were far more inclined to expose the bullsh** in boxing rather than conceal it like most of these company men do nowadays.
