As much as Fury facing for Chisora for a third time was a complete farce, I have no doubt the event did pretty well at the box office.
Whyte-Chisora 2 reportedly did around 500k and Fury is a far bigger name that Whyte is.Comment

More hating on Tyson Fury I see.
Fury vs Whyte did over 800k PPV buys on the BT Sport Box Office UK PPV channel. 94,000 sell out stadium fight.
Fury vs Chisora - SecondsOut interview Warren said OVER 500k PPB buys on the BT Sport Box Office UK PPV channel. 59,769 people attended.
Wilder vs Helenius did 75k PPV buys lol

Of course Fury is a bigger name than Whyte but his trilogy with Chisora was rightly perceived as a mismatch, which is what it turned out to be. Whyte/Chisora 2, on the other hand, was one of the most anticipated fights of the year in the UK after their barnstorming first fight. The PPVs were about 8 quid cheaper than for Fury/Chisora and it was screened by Sky, who, all else being equal, can still be expected to do better than BT when it comes to PPV sales.
Fury did phenomenally well pulling 60k fans to an outdoor arena in December, in the middle of a recession, but it was the event that drew the crowd, not the fight itself. I would be amazed if it sold as many PPVs as Whyte vs Chisora 2.
What do think of Frank claiming that "To be honest" he couldn't remember whether Fury/Whyte did a million PPVs? I thought that was funny AF!Comment

But your cape away fella, nobody is hating on Fury here. Yeah, Frank Warren said that Fury vs Chisora sold over 500k PPVs. He also said he couldn't remember whether Fury vs Whyte hit a million buys or not.More hating on Tyson Fury I see.

I’d bet my house it did more buys than Whyte-Chisora. Neither of those guys are anywhere near the draw Fury is. Whyte-Chisora went up against Warrington-Frampton too if you remember. I think it probably did close to a million tbh.

Frank Warren forgetting how many PPVs his biggest ever fight sold is about as likely as Carl Froch forgetting how many people watched him KO George Groves at Wembley.
The reason Frank claimed not to remember the number was that he was asked the question immediately after he'd finished gloating about Fury vs Whyte breaking the UK live gate record set by AJ vs Klitschko, which still holds the record for biggest selling PPV in British boxing history with around 1.5 million buys.Comment
