Wilder tried in the last match and was some having success; however, Wilder's skill and stamina are very limited.

Bowe is best remembered for blatantly ducking a big, skillful fellow named Lennox Lewis. Probably would have avoided Fury as well.

I believe Bowe's two-step shuffle, along with his telegraphed arching overhand right, would have seen to his being convincingly out-pointed in a contest with Fury. Having stated that, Bowe is correct about fighters going for Fury's body. We don't see much of it. A previous poster encapsulated my thoughts regarding Wilder not doing FAR more body work. I sometimes think fighters get too caught up in their own style and that the ability to adjust suffers.

A prime Rid**** Bowe would've been tough for Fury to beat, the man was great when at his best.

He had Holyfield's number, especially in their first fight, and conclusively stopped him in their final fight. I do think Lewis was a bit better, except for his chin. Lewis would've been too much for Fury.

Unfortunate that Bowe didn't want to fight Lewis back then, and boxing lost another potentially great fight. Lewis beat him in the amateurs, but yeah, we wanted to see them clash in the pro heavyweight title fight.

People mentioning Wilder going to the body forget Fury was popping him on the head everytime Wilder went for the body after the first round.

Wilder was lucky enough to have a similar reach to Fury and have freakish power that made Fury cautious in the first couple rounds. These older guys wouldn't be able to do that. Fury would just need to jab and move, land a couple 1-2s to stun Bowe or potentially hurt him, and if he gets too close there's a nice uppercut or left hook waiting for him.

Obviously we'll never know because these fights will never happen but it's funny seeing these old heads say stuff like this and ignore the reason some of these fighters CAN'T go to the body.

What happened? He got ragdolled and countered for half the fight because Fury had an answer to the body shots.

Wallin only had success again after Fury was dying on him in the 12th.

These days, there aren't any heavyweight swarmers with a relentless body attack.

Big Baby Anderson? ...but look at his defense, he's not ready yet. Fury will smash him to bits.

Swarmers don't exist because that's an obsolete style. 9/10 times a decent boxer with a jab and movement will take out the swarmer.
Hell you really only need an intelligent fighter that can see the openings that the swarmer gives hemce why Anderson is getting whacked.

More heavyweights are starting to focus on boxing rather than being 100% offensive and it's eliminating the fighters that just go out swinging. That's why guys like Whyte and Andy are having trouble with old men and stiffs that have nothing but a average jab.
