Comments Thread For: BoxingScene.com's 2022 Fighter of The Year - Dmitry Bivol

By Jake Donovan - Dmitry Bivol entered the biggest fight of his career as a man without a country. The starting point of Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine created a ripple effect in boxing. The WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO presented a joint ruling on February 24 to not sanction any boxing events taking place in Russia or Belarus in response to the war. The WBA took the extra step in replacing fighters from either nation in its rankings with a "#NoWar" disclaimer in the nation category and "Not Rated" where the fighter's name was previously listed.

Bivol beat a blown up, drug abusing, Jr welter weight and gets fighter of the year? Canelo has been cherry picking Hearn's pigeon coop for many years. Just the same, don't let the hate affect your judgement.

My pick is Bam Rodriguez. Bivol is also a good choice but i don't think his wins were that big of a surprises. Only the dominant way he won those fight was surprising. Inoue is p4p great but wins over old Donaire and someone called Butler don't give him first place.

Beating a blown up, puffy and one punch merchant fake 175 lber shouldn't make you FOTY.
Don't even talk about Zurdo. He is unskilled hypejob and didn't know how to use his size.

The real winner is Inoue. He beat HoF Donaire in 2 at his best weight as a smaller man. He toyed with Butler and finally became undisputed.

Please delete this thread and update as Inoue.

"universally regarded pound-for-pound king". Complete BS. Only Fans and ass kissing journalists maybe. There was no "universally regarded". He lost the first GGG fight, got a gift against Landry, lost to May and Bivol. The judges and their crooked scores and brown tongue journalists got exposed when Bivol thoroughly schooled Alvarez.
