  • I wonder if Charles Barkley walked out on this fight like he did the Baldomir fight. Anybody know? JMM was the one who excited me more. Sure, I appreciate pure boxers. But JMM was the one trying to deal with Floyd pot shotting him with a big ass reach advantage, and JMM was the one throwing combinations even though they were missing. And like I said, Floyd is a pot shotter.

    • So this is the report card we get back from the guy who said his fight will sell better the cotto/pac?

This is a sign that as stubborn as one can be the public isnt budging.

There was a supply and demand from the public and Mayweather fell short to it.IN A WAY THIS IS A GOOD SIGN.....A PAC/COTTO VS MAYWEATHER SHOWDOWN CAN BE REALISTIC NOW WITHOUT THE BITCHNESS OF THE LIONS SHARE.FlOYD'S STOCK FELL A JUST LIL' BIT.HAD THIS BEEN HIM EXCEEDING MORE BUYS HE WOULD OF WENT ON RECORD CLAIMING THE BIGGER SHARE.

Thats all done now floyd, while Manny is banking "your paying bills from your skills."Take the winner.

The actual tickets available through the MGM Grand and Ticketmaster are around $2,500+. There are only about 1,000 remaining, maybe less.

I bought my tickets on the day that they came out @ $500 a pop, I bought two. Tried to go back and buy two more to try and sell for profit on the Tuesday after they came out, and they were gone.
Actually if they don't sell they go back to the promoter. Did you know that?

Are you going to complain about the same thing if he fights Cotto since he is the same height and has the same reach as JMM?

1 million is unbelievable...for a fight ppl said would do around 4-600000...

            tell 'em...

the live gate is only half the story....boxing ppv's make the most revenue from PPV's....only a certain amount of tickets go on sale to the public, in the first place....tickets are usually held for sponsors, guests, etc...so while the gate counts, its not the biggest indicator of whether a fight is a success or not....given the current state of the country, i'm sure not as many ppl are traveling to vegas....fights or otherwise.

what idiots like you don't realize is that floyd just wants to draw interest....based on the way he acts, i dont think its unreasonable to suggest he probably tries harder to make ppl hate him, than like him. dude obviously doesn't care whether you show up or view to see him win, or lose, as long as you show up, or view.....so, if you watched the fight, you fell into the trap either way. if 80% of the gate was marquez fans, that's excellent for floyd, given that 80% of the crowd, actually showed up and bought tickets, thinking marquez had a chance....

i saw it at the movies too....i got there early, and it was empty for the most part....i was like "****, this **** is gonna flop BIGTIME......" by the time the john-juarez fight ended, there were ppl sitting on the floor in the isles....

like i posted above.....of you're a marquez fan and you paid for tickets, thinking he had a chance to win...you fell into the trap....who gives a **** who was in the audience supporting who? all parties involved just wanted you to show up....

he did...his name was oscar dlh.....

wrong.....mayweather's team didn't approach marquez's team "the day of" the fight....they approached them at least 3 days before about the weight issue. only an idiot would think losing 2 pounds in 3 days changes the course of the fight.....if anything, it was a marketing tacting to get idiots saying, "floyd is having weight issues." so they buy the fight thinking marquez has a chance.

fact is, i got ppl i work with that take ****in' diet pills, and lose more than 2 pounds in 3 days.

1 million is not bad??? like i said before, IF reports are accurate, and this fight did 1 million or more in ppv buys, not only did this fight sell more than pacman-jmm I & II combined, i guarantee this **** outsells pacman-cotto too....

wanna get a feel for how good 1 million + ppv buys are? do some research and see how many fights do those kind of numbers.....

**** the live gate, if this **** did over a million buys, the ****in audience in the arena could've been empty and this would be considered an OVERWHELMING success.

he tried to fight mosley more than once in the past.....**** shane mosley.
You must be the dumbest poster ever! To take all that time quoting all that people to defend a sorry excuse of a man that doesn't know you exist, damn get off his ****! To know that Cotto/Pac sold out a week after the tickets went on sale and Floyd/JMM could't sell tickets even with all the mexicans on Independence Day weekend, should tell you and all the other Floyd nuthuggers something: Your boy is not as big a draw as he thinks he is! Period. The PPV #'s will come out soon and guess what? Cotto/Pac PPV #'s will double them, watch. Floyd= Cotto/Pac=

I personally think it's kind of weird. I don't know why tax information and gate attendance is fascinating... unless we have a lot of Algebra majors here. (hm, i actually hope so- would explain the **** spelling alot of Floyd haters showcase)

Here is something to consider, Floyd haters. If you can research facts and figures, consider this one:

12.5 MILLION AMERICANS OUT OF WORK.

I hope that sends you into fits of giggles as well. After all, going to see a live boxing event in circumstances like that, especially when all is available were not the best seats, is sure to not be as much of a priority when it is, in fact, a luxury. According to a CNN research, 2 million more Americans have lost their jobs since May alone. You mean to say that isn't even a slight factor in gate attendance? Concerts, stand up comedy- all of it isn't doing the same numbers it was doing a year ago.
hehehe...here comes the excuse in BOLD LETTERS

Cotto Pac will sell out. It hasn't as of yet though so they didn't move tickets as fast as people think.

Do you mean tickets not sold by brokers or by Ticketmaster/box office?

If you're talking about brokers, you're wrong. The blocks of tickets they buy are theirs, whether they sell them or not, that is the risk that ticket brokers take by buying the tickets in bulk, and the reason why if you've ever been to a big fight, they often have tickets to liquidate at below face value prices.
