Yeah my issue is not necessarily with Froch, it’s with who he’s going in ahead of. I think Benn is borderline as well but if you’re putting Froch in you have to put him in too IMO. I feel like the standard of what makes a HOF’er has been considerably lowered for fighters who competed post 2000.
your last sentence - agreed 100%! But that is the nature of modern boxing - legacies don't compare - no way Bradley would get in if he thought in the 80s or 90s. I agree Benn is borderline on resume but i think part of HOF is based on just that "fame" .. as in what did you bring entertainment-wise - and Benn brought sooooo much entertainment.

As a British fan, I always hold Benn and Eubank in very high regard because they did so much for boxing in this country, they helped grow the sport more than any other fighters IMO. I think 15-16 million people tuned in for the rematch in 93. That’s incredible man, British boxing will never experience that again IMO. However, they probably fit the bill as British greats rather than World greats.

on reflection you're probably right - but Benn especially gave massive entertainment - I think I was at the Benn Watson fight - Benn's first loss - just a hazy memory now lol

100% deserved and a shoe-in for the Hall Of Fame.

One of the best fighters this country has produced and definitely the toughest.

Wasn’t that inside a big tent? I remember they did something similar for Neary vs Holligan in Stanley Park, I remember John Hyland telling me he got the idea from Benn vs Watson.

I was trying to picture where it was and I thought of the Rainbow as i'm pretty sure it was Finsbury Park but you're right - from boxing247 website >>
"Inside the purposely erected “Super Tent,” Benn attempted to defend his Commonwealth title, retain his unbeaten record and move into the word’s top-10. Watson, the betting underdog, was convinced his combination of superior boxing skill, experience and savvy would prove too much for Benn’s raw power and sheer aggression."
