Ramirez is so busy thinking he’s some shrewd businessman that he’s not smart enough to grasp that the first rule of good business is to actually DO business. If your business revolves around you boxing, then actually box. He’s yet another guy who’s not as smart as he thinks and will end up outsmarting himself because of it.

Boring and tiresome but like Ramirez stated, these are business decisions that have consequences on how well he's able to support his wife and kids when his boxing window closes. That title for him at this point means very little, monetarily. He's already established himself as a draw in the Central Valley and has a minimum purse with TR. In terms of business,he's right...taking 35% of a much bigger pie is hell of a lot smarter than accepting 35% of a bag of peanuts. Regis can stick to a non-negotiable stance with his title, that's his right and prerogative, but let's see just how big that pie is with whomever probellum can entice. Knowing your place and worth can sometimes prove to be invaluable, whether you're the "A or B" side.

Ramirez has fought Josh Taylor and Chon Zepeda ffs yet we got these "edgelords" slamming thier keyboards, getting cheeto dust all over the place calling him "duck" or even "fruit picker"....smfh.

All of the sudden all of this idiot$$ know about boxing negotiations! Mofo$ that are in section 8 apartments and go every year to the Turkey drop in their hoods to get a free turkey. Why would Jose Ramirez get less $? 1st of all to all of you second grade level education, he is explaining to you how it works. If the purse bid wins with less than $500K how much is that in 35%? Don't be dumb and learn to read the lines, don't just see the photos and the subject of the message. Ramirez and Prograsis will be a great fight worth of all the $$ these 2 can get. Think about it Tank who has not been tested vs no one except Pitubull makes much more and on PPV for fighting tomatoed cans! How abput Crawford who just fought a guy that had no bussines being in the ring with him, and he charged a PPV price for this onesided fight! Don't hate on Mexicans fighters, they deserved to get as much money as any other fighters in the world. This is not about RACE! Support the fighters not the crooked promoters.

I doubt it's Ramirez so much as his team and TR that are swerving Prograis. Problem is that there have been multiple swerves (Prograis a few times and Zepeda). He's also been fortunate with a few of his decision wins (Postol and Zepeda come to mind) and could have a few more blemishes on his record. He's a draw in his back yard and that's of some value to TR. They are just protecting their investment.

Next up Commey. A recent lightweight moved up who was lucky to get a draw against Pedraza and was poleaxed by Teo at 135.

                  Jose "La Gallina" Ramirez.

                  Another fighter hiding behind negotiations.

Suppose the only positive we can take from this is that it could work out in everybody's favour... If Taylor wins his rematch with Catterall I would expect him to move up in weight leaving the Lineal Championship vacant.

If Ramirez fights in March and Prograis in April/May against Teo, and they both come through those fights then Prograis v Ramirez would be a clear 1v2 so if they can make a fight at the end of the year then it would be for the vacant Lineal & Ring Championships. So ultimately it would be a much bigger fight in terms of their legacies and it would probably generate more hype and money.

Ramirez may draw more but he is far from a household name.
