"Had Ramirez fought Zepeda for the vacant WBC title, he would’ve received a 50-50 split of 90 percent of the winning purse bid. The remaining 10 percent would’ve gone to the winner . . . "

Ramirez' decision was not to move forward with this fight either. He would have been aware of where this would place him in terms of mandatory etc., If TR had confidence in him they could have approached Prograis with an alternative offer. so it's all on him. These "explanations" are unnecessary; it's a duck.

          Let's cut the crap.
He biatched out by throwing out all the excuses, hoping something will stick.
The same goes for lil' fake-over Lopez.
          TR doesn't have many options.
WBA & IBF goes to PBCult. Liam Paro is MR's guy and mando to Taylor. And Regis is just too tough for this lil biatchez.

Oh, and that FightHype interview he did was horrible. Horrible! Whoever advised him that should be sacked.
He was super nervous, with a dry mouth. Words were uncontrollably dropping out of his mouth. He was all over the place.
            Like a hostage video.

You can almost see the yellow stripe in his back when they mention Prograis.

Long complex explanation to avoid the fight. Arum doesn't work with this guy and that guy and unknown percentages. Arum has been in the game for a looong time and this could had been negotiated. Ramirez is not the A side like he says and they already have formed some path which the fruit picker is going to go.

Hope they eventually meet somewhere down the line bc this would be a really good matchup.
                Ramirez draws more money.

BUT, it's for a title he lacks.

It's in his best interest to do the one fight at a loss and recoup it later.

Chances are, he's not confident he wins, which is the real reason he wants more money.

l hear what you are saying about boxing being a bussiness - it is after all called Prize Fighting. Also for those who jump to conclusions about Ramirez not having the heart to get into the ring with Prograis well I seem to remember Progrey as being a bit of a complaining fighter(about money) during World Boxing super series right ? Did he not want to pull out due to money.? Has not the issue of money come up several times with Progrey before, reguarding taking fights yes it has.. Was he called a fearful fighter at that time ? So it cuts both ways with getting a fight made. I don;t know what is in the mind of Ramirez really don't care to, He is most likely speaking the truth as he see's it. There are no fights around at this time of the year so we will get a lot of grey matter on the matter of fighters hearts, there skills or lack there of ... Until some fights show up on the screen and in the ring these type of stories will show up.....Just how it goes.

Ramirez has now ducked Prograis twice! Once b4 the Tournament at 140, which he did not join, and now once again after Prograis becomes Champ! WBC set the table for Prograis vs. Ramirez, and Ramirez swerved once again! Go ahead and get money, but you're not getting that title! Hopefully Schaefer can get some cooperation from PBC for Lipinets, or Ergashev, and maybe a unification with the winner of Puello vs. Russell.

Ramirez is popular, yes.....but he's not a huge star. His team didn't even try to negotiate up to 40 percent, which is all he would have deserved. I bet his next fight will be for less money. Had he beat Prograis, he would have a belt, and his market value would have gone up. It's a duck.
