This right here. He speculates to the media too much too often. Probably why Joshua isn't bringing him back.

Garcia provided AJ with absolutely nothing lol. He did a little better in the rematch with usyk but he had the 1st usyk vs AJ to get a strategy. Fighters usually do better the 2nd time. McCracken could say the same about him training AJ for the 2nd usyk fight.

Garcia just got Joshua at a difficult time against a difficult opponent. I think naturally it'd take about 3 fights with a new trainer. Sparring isn't the same as fight night.

Cant argue with coach Garcia comments ,Aj did showed some improvement but usyk is just the better boxer and has tougher mental strength also key factor. Hope Aj keeps garcia in his corner but if he doesn't he got money to hire pretty much anyone he wants.

Yeah that was disingenuous of him to back track, when he specifically stated Joshua's name.
Now all of a sudden it's all fighter's in general (what a phony), Robert's name should've been Tony, because he is full of baloney.
He must have caught some back lash, because of his negative comment toward Joshua, and then tried to clean it up.
Whether you like Joshua's fighting ability or not, you can't take away from his fighting spirit, or will to win.

I presume they won't work together again as Garcia mentioned not wanting to have another camp in the UK, which is a shame.
Robert is a very good trainer, and did a damn good job with getting Joshua prepared, as well as with his instruction's to him in between round's.
It's just a shame that after all that good work, he had to let his pride get in the way in making that off hand remark about Joshua's next fight.

Garcia seems to be going out of his way to guarantee that he doesn’t get the AJ training gig. The truth is he already knows full well that he’s been dropped. He’s playing coy about his future with AJ for the fans, but the fact that he would discredit any future coaches or opponents says everything about where he stands on that team. He’s been dumped and for good reason. He’s just a bad fit. I have no idea what role Garcia played in training but he was an assistant on fight night. What bothers me most besides his unprofessional comments is the fact that he seems way too pleased with himself that AJ did “a little bit better” in the rematch with Usyk. That’s a loser mentality. Who knows if anybody can fix AJ at this point, but Robert Garcia cannot do anything for him. He’s just too soft.

I haven’t seen the interview and only read about the quotes on here, I believe the original interview was in Spanish and I don’t speak Spanish. Quotes can get taken and turned to a certain context from their original meaning. But it’s a shame all the same, hopefully he picks a trainer and sticks with him until the end.
