AJs challenge is that he is not a talented boxer, and not a natural fighter, but what he has achieved is incredible, think of all the arm chair boxing fans he's has brought to the sport.

I don't have a problem with what garcia has to say, because it's true.

Garcia wants Joshua to train at his gym where he believes he would do his best work and get his best results. Understandable. Joshua is probably paying his trainers a lot so might want to feel like he is their priority. Also understandable. Sometimes things don't work for both parties.

As for Garcia's comments about whoever trains Joshua next looking good because it will be an easy opponent? I disagree, I think people are smart enough to realise that the level of opposition makes a big difference.

Garcia wants that AJ money but doesn't have the bandwidth to make him top priority. AJ deserves to move on if he so desires. Garcia works well with aggressive fighters anyway and since Fat Ruiz chin checked AJ, he has lost all confidence in been aggressive so the pairing will likely not work long term anyway cos once he fight someone who picks up the pace and can crack, I think he comes crashing down all over again.

And exactly why all this from Hearn about a wilder fight is just pure bullcac and won't happen unless it's a cashout fight

Agreed , unless Joshua has absolutely no where else to go he will never share that ring. He's clearly just using the name ...typical Hearn.

He's not an elite natural boxer nor fighter but he has elite natural attributes and through dedication and application he rose to the top and has maxed out his potential a rung below Usyk.
Fury is a totally natural instinctive fighter and a very well schooled boxer. He also has elite physical attributes. But he falls short of Joshua on dedication and application.
If you blended the best of Fury and Joshua you'd have a top 3 ATG heavyweight. Scary thought.

Soon enough? AJ is a part-time fighter to these eyes. He should have already fought somebody post-Usyk AND have something lined up yet again for Feb/March.

[quote=Robert Garcia]It doesn’t matter who it is, when he comes back, I know they’re going to pick him two or three easy fights so he can look good. That’s going to make any trainer [look good]. Whether it’s Virgil Hunter or if it’s Angel Fernandez — he can just stay with Angel — or he can pick Derrick James. The opponent he’s going to fight he’s going to knock out and that’s going to make him look good and it’s going make whoever training him look good.

But it’s a big difference. I went in there against Usyk and we still did better than anybody expected. So that’s a big difference. They’re not going to go in there against Usyk. They’re going to go in there against easier opponents that he's going to go out and destroy, like, ‘Oh ****! What a difference. He looks so much better.’ Yeah, but look at the quality of the opponent too. That’s the big difference.[quote]

Grandpa throwing stones at AJ lol.

I like Garcia, good trainer, good guy. But he should stop talking to the media about this issue because he comes across badly. Not always right when a trainer gets fired but as long as he was paid fairly and the fighter doesn't publicly bad mouth him, he should take it on the chin and move on.
