No disrespect to Bud , but Porter said that he was planning on retiring after that fight and he had hip surgery sometime around the fight with Crawford because Porter was having big problems with his hip joint. Crawford beat a worse version of Porter than Spence beat and Spence beat a worse version of Porter than Thurman beat. Porter retired because he was ripe for retirement. He even talked about it before the fight with Crawford.

he's not fighting those mandatories. Virgil will stop stan. That will leave ennis and virgil petitioning for their shot. Haymon will pull manny out of retirement first or have all 3 belts allow spence to fight a voluntary. They would try to force another eliminator between virgil and ennis first. Spence holding all of those belts has "f"up the division. Drunk, not fighting shape, eye injury, 2 car accidents but it's all crawford's fault.Comment

There is always some sort of AB side in really big fights to suggest there isn't is you being delusional, I just cited the extreme big-name fighters to show it in workings, if you've been in any negotiation there is always a case of one guy wanting more because of record, ticket sales, public appeal, its the way it's always been, Ive seen the A B side scenario in 6 round state title fights, seen it first hand in Commonwealth title fights, its real and its built into the TC Spence fight.
They did offer him a guarantee which has been reported from the other side by numerous people it wasn't high enough and he rejected it, just one of the contradictions you wanted, the other is transparency which he got and said he didn't, when the Muhammad Ali act makes transparency law and fighters must sign a form every fight, so Bud saying there was no transparency is BS.
Text of H.R. 1832 (106th): Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act as of May 24, 2000 (Passed Congress version). H.R. 1832 (106th): Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act
‘(b) DISCLOSURES TO THE BOXER- A promoter shall not be entitled to receive any compensation directly or indirectly in connection with a boxing match until it provides to the boxer it promotes--
‘(c) INFORMATION TO BE AVAILABLE TO STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL- A promoter shall make information required to be disclosed under this section available to the chief law enforcement officer of the State in which the match is to be held upon request of such officer.- ‘(1) the amounts of any compensation or consideration that a promoter has contracted to receive from such match;
‘(2) all fees, charges, and expenses that will be assessed by or through the promoter on the boxer pertaining to the event, including any portion of the boxer’s purse that the promoter will receive, and training expenses; and
‘(3) any reduction in a boxer’s purse contrary to a previous agreement between the promoter and the boxer or a purse bid held for the event.

I think you are right that the fear of actually losing to the other guy seems to outweigh the reward of possibly winning for these guys. I can’t say to how much they detest each other or if they even do. If they were buddies they’d have fought four times by now. That’s the thing, can’t they trust their skills that they won’t get blown out in one or two rounds by the other guy? It’s more likely it’s a twelve round chess match, even disappointing possibly. They should be banking on making a trilogy with each other. Getting paid three times. Then come out of retirement to fight each other again.Comment

These two chicken ****s just going to circle each other.. Hell probably fight Thurman or the guy Crawford beat..
Of course Crawfords going to be ok with it and fight another bum and the cycle continues until these 2 retire and talk about who's betterLast edited by johncods; 12-26-2022, 01:52 AM.Comment

The only thing we know is that neither fighter was going to get paid a guarantee. I’m not going with fan conspiracy theories and rumors. I’m only going with what is openly available to the public until what’s openly available changes. And I’m pretty sure Terence Crawford wanted more than just transparency. He also wanted the right of refusal. If Spence and company are trying to negotiate from the point of view that Crawford has no bargaining power then its no wonder that the fight hasn’t happened. And there isn’t always an A B scenario in every fight. What about fights where theres a 50/50 split? They do happen.
There is stories of there being a guarantee, only it was rejected, that's different than saying no guarantee was offered, and I just proved the transparency as being false because its mandatory by law that the promotor must disclose to the fighter , (2) all fees, charges, and expenses that will be assessed by or through the promoter on the boxer pertaining to the event, including any portion of the boxer’s purse that the promoter will receive, and training expenses;
Bud is talking BS on the transparency claims.Comment

My point is you don't have facts, you have what I have hearsay, from sitting on the other side of the wall I guess you could say in your opinion the fight can be made immediately, the people on the inside might have a lot more information than you that says otherwise.
Me personally I don't buy into media hearsay too much, its got to be congruent with undeniable sources which most of it doesn't have, the biggest red flag for me is Bud took off and made another fight, and there is no denying that the PBC side didn't know TC was doing that, Errol was down for one fight and was left with no fight, in my mind that tells me Bud did not want the Spence fight at the time of the negotiation after saying he agreed to all terms, then came up with transparency with Ive already shown with Ali Law is BS.Comment
