Steve Smoger was the best referee ever in my opinion & he was my favourite. He never got in the way of the HWs. He let guys fight out of a clinch if holding was starting to take place he would say “Henry! You are holding”. My bro used to call him Steve “Let them kill each other” Smoger. He was the guy I always wanted in the ring during an important fight. R.I.P Mr. Smoger… You will be missed…

I will never forget Rahman/ Maskaev 1 when Rahman got KO’d & fell out of the ring & a riot broke out. One of those chairs flying hit Smoger in the head & he shook it off like a boss…
