But the other way of looking this is a lack of confidence in his ability to get past what can be considered a tune up. This is more a reflection of his mental instability to lock in for multiple camps etc.

The fight people want to see is Ryan vs Tank, at their best without any further delays.
A tune up can prevent that from happening (mostly due to recovery from shlt).

Normally I would agree with you but Ryan has a history and it's not a good one. He says all of the right things and then next thing you know, he's doing the opposite. His word isn't exactly his bond.

Boxing Scene simpletons never cease to amaze me. They b I t c h about constant tune up fights and not getting the young and tops fighting in their divisions. We now get one that comes out publicly about skipping “the next tune up” to make the big fight happen and THAT TOO IS AN ISSUE to b I t c h about. BS is comedy gold. If a fighter is having ''issues'', it's best the fight is delayed.
As a fight fan, I want both guys to be at the best.
Nothing is worse than an after L excuse.
As of this moment, the only excuse that can be used is Tank needing to recover.
Even in a 3 rd blow out an injury can happen.
There is no excuse Ryan can use.
