It sounds like an Ameri-centric list - ESPN's audience is probably 90% from USA so that's it I suppose. I like Spence as a fighter. I thought he was done after the car crash but he proved me wrong. He has a very, very solid record at WW but not yet a spectacular resume - he hasn't beaten Bud, he has young lions nipping his tail and he hasn't moved up - he should be 6-10 on the P4P

I do think there should be more names on his resume but Charlo only fights 1 or 2 times a year and a couple of those times were rematches. The good news I think he will be on the p4p list in a few years once the 154 prospects mature into contenders like Israil Madrimov and Charles Conwell, or fighting Liam Smith or Sebastian Fundora.
What? Liam Smith? - you just shot your credibility in the foot. He's basically cleared out 154 and only Fundora is left - Tszyu is hype. He only missed Lara who moved up. Hurd was beaten by Lara, Williams was beaten by Rosario.

If he's worried about pound for pound lists, I'm pretty sure he's on most people's pound for pound top twelve.

As undisputed super welterweight/ light middleweight champion, he is afforded that recognition.

I think Jermell has suffered for being in a more competitive division.

You look at Taylor, and as good as he was at 140 (before Caterall fight) not many could see him beating Spence, Bud, Ennis or Ortiz at WW - I'd take them all to soundly beat Taylor (or even Prograis if he moved up now).

But if any of those 4 move up to 154 I think most sound-minded fans are going to say that a fight with Jermell is competitive at the least.
Jermell is in the top 10 p4p, so this isn't really up for debate, he's just always salt for w/e reason.

And even if it was 140 is arguably a more competitive division recently at least, 54 was decent back in the day (90s early 2000s) beyond that not really...

He's beaten some decent opposition and is definitely the better of the 2 brothers, but p4p is if everyone was the same size who would b the best and for all he's accomplished I can definitely think of 10+ fighters that would beat him if they were the same size. I respect what he's done at 154 tho, he fights everybody.

Winky Wright was "boxing’s first fully unified 154-pound champion" when he beat Shane Mosley the first time. This was before the WBOgus "four belt era".

Liam Smith is in the top 5 in 3 of the 4 boxing orgs, I think that counts for something.

Spence is his friend, stablemate, and they share the same trainer, no shxt, he's not going to fight him.

F'k that, the whole division is supposed to be put on hold because two fighters are friends? It's boxing, it's not like they are brothers. The best need to fight the best. Period.
