i said SRL dodged some people!
The first name you mentioned was Whitaker. Whitaker fought the best many times over. Period. Even at welterweight.

If I tell you who, you'll come up with an excuse why they weren't worthy, just like Floyd does. So why don't I save you the trouble and say ahead of time that it's all about the money. Which is cool - and smart. But we're discussing legacy here and unlike you, I'd rather see Floyd fight the top welters, not the top lightweights. I'm hoping he will next (please not Berto) and I hope you hope so too.

Name the names so we can discuss like grown men. What u trying to do is play hindsight. these so-called test wouldn't have been test then and you know it. that's why u aint naming nobody. But i'm the hugger and i don't know boxing.

And again i said whitaker made it look easy. SRL ducked a couple people. Duran quit in the ring and we still regard them highly. So no...your assertion that his legacy is being affected by this so-called ducking is not true, but an emotional answer. C'mon son!

[QUOTE=mangler;6173810]If he fights SSM and the Cotto-Pac winner nobody can say **** about him no more.[/QUOTE

You will talk anyway. You will say that Mosley was old and over the hill, Cotto has been in too many wars and had nothing left and Pac was too small.

If that was the case, he should have gotten his props for beating De La Hoya. He didn't. And he should have gotten his props for beating Hatton since at the time, Floyd had fought 75 percent of his fights at 130 and only 10 percent at 147 while Hatton had fought 97 percent of his fights at 140 and one at 147. So weight wise, it wasn't a mismatch. However, Floyd did not get his props for that fight either.

If he KO's Pac, Mosley, Cotto, Berto and Clottey and then retires, the haters will say he never fought Paul Williams. If he fights and beats Williams, they will say Williams was overrated. Mayweather will never get his props from the haters.

Whitaker made it look easy...and? When did I ever mention anything about how easy it looked? The point is that he fought the best fighters of his era time and time again. Beat the top welters of his time after moving up.

Duran and Leonard have resumes far better than Floyd's. To say otherwise is absolutely ludicrous. Regardless of who you think they might've ducked, they certainly fought a lot of people. Leonard took 3 years and came back and fought the world's best middle, not the best lightweight. I noticed you said he waited until Hagler was slipping, conveniently forgetting that Marquez has aged himself...and was moving up!

Finally, you mentioned you were ok with Floyd fighting Zab although Zab didn't deserve it. This is the problem right here. You'll excuse anything he does, right or wrong. You want to discuss like a grown man? Hop off the grown nuts you cling to and stand like a man first.

Baldomir wasn't the best available opponent either. Nor Zab. Geezus, who do you talk sports with? Same with Oscar...you kidding? Only person that thought these guys were the best available opponent were apologists like you who have an excuse for every guy he fights.
Now you really sound like an idiot. Baldomir was the Ring magazine champion when Floyd fought him. That made him worthy. Zab Judah was number two rated figher behind Baldomir in the Ring rankings. That made him worthy. Oscar was the Ring champion at 154. That made him worthy. Mosley turned down a fight with Mayweather after the Baldomir fight and before the Oscar fight. Hatton was the ring champion at 140 and called Mayweather out after turning the fight down three times, including an offer to fight Mayweather in Floyd's FIRST fight at 140 several years earlier.

So tell us apologists who the hell you consider to have been worthy at the time. Was it Cotto, who wasn't even on the welterweight radar at the time Mayweather retired (and whom Arum wouldn't let fight Floyd at 140)? Was it Mosley, who turned the fight down? Was it Margarito, the number three welterweight and number 1 cheater when Mayweather retired? Was it Clottey, who was barely in the top 10 among welterweights? Please enlighten us apologists!!!!

The fighter makes the belt, not vice versa. Oscar De La Hoya may have held a 154lb crown but he hadn't proven to be the best at the division had he? Seriously, who did he beat that made him the best fighter at 154? When was the last time he had a significant win?

Was it not Floyd Mayweather who declared Baldomir wasn't worthy of a shot? Wasn't it Floyd Mayweather who said he got lucky against Zab? Wasn't that the reason why he took the fight with Zab even though Zab had just lost? What changed a few months later? Tell me.
