Ennis is considered one of the top prospects in the welterweight division, that’s for sure.

So, is Boots Ennis the black version of Jaime Munguia? There are certainly some similarities between the two young fighters. Both are undefeated, both are considered top prospects in their respective divisions, and both have scored impressive wins over former world champions.

However, there are also some significant differences between the two. For one, Munguia is a middleweight while Ennis is a welterweight. Additionally, Munguia is Mexican while Ennis is Canadian.

At the end of the day, it's up to the individual to decide if they believe Boots Ennis is the black version of Jaime Munguia. There's no right or wrong answer, but it's certainly an interesting question to consider.

Kavaliauskas, for example, just made an impressive come back right on the PBC platform recently. Butaev's fight with Stanionis was not like a one-sided domination by the split-decision winner. And their fight was on PBC as well. Why team Ennis chose another Karen is beyond comprehensible.
Butaev would have said yes in a hearbeat if he was offered the Ennis fight. Why, because he's not happy with the decision in the Stanionis fight. He wants blood, revenge to anybody who wants it. Mean Machine, to be fair, wants 1 or 2 more showcase fights before getting into the title fight again. Even then, Ennis's team should have at least tried.

        - - Don't recall Bootsy holding and defending a title at age 20.

Munguia turned down a title shot against Andrade and then turned down a title shot against Janibek. Boots has never turned down a title shot.

So the answer is no. Boots isn't like Munguia

Would be very disappointing if after the Karen fight early next year Jaron Boots would play waiting game again for another year.

Lipinets, and Clayton are both great scalps to have. Dulorme is a solid hand for a step up too. His next opponent looks like crap, but I also didn't realize it was for an Interim IBF belt, which puts him in line to fight Spence Immediately if theres no Bud fight.

Munguia hasn't fought anyone on the level of Lipinets or Clayton.

Lipinets ain’t any better than Liam Smith both were passable ex champs, the difference is Boots cherry-pick a career 140 lbs in Lipinets while Munguia fought Smith @ his weight class 154 lbs. Also, Clayton ain’t any better than Tureano Johnson or Sadam Ali. While beating Karen won’t put Boots in front of the line to fight Spence next the WBA already ordered the winner of Vergil vs. Stanionis has next dibs on Spence so he either fights the winner or vacate the belt.
