"As previously reported by BoxingScene.com, Ortiz petitioned the WBA in September to order a fight with Stanionis as the sanctioning body’s mandatory challenger. Meanwhile, Stanionis pushed for a title consolidation clash with WBA ‘Super’ champ Errol Spence Jr. "

Anyone notice the difference? Anyway, this should be a great fight! Hopefully we get it in February!

Since Oscar had the most recent interview on fighthub, I'm going with Oscar since he is the promoter and he says WBA route, not the WBO b/c Crawford is more complex fighter which we all know but we can continue to play these ridiculous games.

I have Stanionis winning by KO in about 6 or 7 rounds. Ortiz's defense, when he gets hit with something, is to fight harder. That's not going to work against a guy like Stanionis, that can take it and give it back better with brutal intentions.

What counter. What I posted was factual.

            Trophys for everyone!
I don’t disagree with this but that doesn’t change things. The champion doesn’t go to the challengers back yard AND take the short money. I can’t dumb it down anymore than that for you.

Both guys aimed for the fighter above them in the sanctioning body hiearchy. I don't see the difference.

As for the match-up itself, I'm sure it'll be a great one. Both guys are there to be hit. I think Stanionis has the tighter defense, but he really got marked up against Butaev.

Very glad you find this fight a very dangerous fight for the "overrated" Ortiz. That's good bro. Looking forward to the fight.

Oscar didn't move Ortiz away from Crawford and petition the WBA to fight Stanionis by mistake. Think about that for a moment. Ortiz by late stoppage. They, real boxing people, 've scouted him

He's also not a real champ. The fact you accept "regular champ" as a real thing is sad. Your either a champ or not. That simple
