Trainer Freddie Roach will not allow WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto to use the weight tactic of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Last Saturday in Las Vegas, Mayweather weighed 146-pounds for his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. The fight was agreed upon for a catch-weight of 144-pounds. At the late hour, the Marquez camp was informed that Mayweather was unable to make 144 and a deal was reached for the fight to move forward. [details]

Roach wants to make sure Cotto is nice and drained, just like he likes them. But it shouldn't be a big deal since Cotto weighed in at 146 for his last fight. I doubt one pound difference will hurt cottos chances. Floyd was a deouche for pulling a fast one though.

Man seriously, this weight drained bull**** excuses has run its toll. I would rather here people say that DLH is ****** and COTTO is not. Cotto will have over 24hrs to eat all the mofongos he wants to put on the weight. The contract on both fights states a catch weight, but there is nothing on the contract that says you have to starve yourself and stay within the weight limit. With that said, DLH's ego cost him the fight, plus the fact the PACQUIAO box him flawlessly and stuck with the game plan perfectly.
