Freddie Roach doesn't need to worry,It's not of Cotto's Nature to break a contract regulation. It might take some time and hard work, but Cotto will make 145 come Nov 14.

        Weight Advantage

I didn't think the weight would matter. According to Boxing Scene's Fitz Bitz, the weight had nothing to do with Mayweather's dominance.

I don't even know why people are wasting their time talking about a possible Pacquiao / Mayweather fight when I know that for a fact that Pacquiao is not getting passed Cotto. It's bad luck to talk about a possible future fight while training for your current fight. That never happens with Cotto. The media asks him about a potential fight with Mayweather, he's response is that he won't talk about future fights until he finishes the fight that he currently has scheduled. Cotto's typical response is "after I finish this fight, I will talk to my promoter and evaluate all of the possible options". Nothing more, nothing less.

Pacquiao is going to get beat up. Am sorry guys. I know that everybody and their mother thinks that Pacquiao is the only living Terminator on earth but he's getting knocked out on November 14th. After the knock out, people will forget about Pacquiao and start talking about Cotto / Mayweather. And Jim Lampley will say to all of the Pacquiao Nut huggers, I TOLD YOU SO. Pacquiao will be put back in his place and will continue to fight the little guys down at the light weight level were he belongs. They're won't be any more Delahoya's or Hatton's in the world that he can capitalize on. Those are the only two opponents that made him look like a million bucks. The other opponents such as Marquez are the typical chicken fights that you will see at the light weight level. Little guys hitting each other like crazy cause they're small, light, fast and have no power.... I just schooled all of you wanna be boxing analyst. No all of you's can go ****k yourselves.... Story over...

            Understanding the Mayweather 'Trick'

Disregarding the catchweight is the cheat, but the real trick was to persuade JMM to fight anyway.

When one fighter tries to move up and the other does not even bother to meet in the middle, this does not make for a fair fight - case in point - JMM vs. Floyd.

Roach just wants to make sure that this doesn't happen to his fighter. I find this to be reasonable.

Freddie Roach is full of ****! Didn't he just say the weight doesn't matter now he's scared of 2 pounds. I don't believe nothing Roach says. I hope Cotto smashes Manny's ass so we can get back to real, gimmick free boxing.

What is up with Roach saying that he is not concerned if Cotto comes two pounds over the contracted weight and now he is, or maybe he was misquoted in the article I read. But, this whole catch weight stuff is starting to diminish my enthusiasm for fights because it is like watching a rigged fight that us fans pay big dollars for.

If Manny beats Cotto and a fight with Floyd happens. Floyd will pay millions to have the weight advantage and either the fight will be canceled by Roach (which i doubt, to much money involved) and they will be paid through the fines or the fight goes on with Floyd weighing 154+ and they get paid plus the fines. And us fans will be like -- wtf, just like were doing now.
