I was just about to point that out, Oscar doesn't want the fight, Ortiz probably does, but De la Hoya is going to press them about being on DAZN or the money splits; anything to make it stall or not happen at all.

Well...at least GBP took the first step by asking the WBA to make Ortiz/Stanionis. If they weren't interested in the match-up, they wouldn't have even done that. Stanionis is more likely to not want the fight because he's knocking on the door of a unification...and losing to Ortiz ruins that. Stanionis is in a ****ed-up situation.

GBP is good at taking the first step, but look how many of there follow up negotiations fail. With Mungia-Charlo, both fighters had already agreed to terms, but then here comes Oscar and things fall apart. De la Hoya talks of fights, but he rarely puts his guys in a risky one.

Mungia and Ryan have expressed their frustration with them in the past, so its no surprise here, knowing that Ortiz probably really wants to prove himself. Stanionis ' position isn't bad at all, its pretty much just win and he's in the front of the line for the championship fight.

After its been stated publicly the allowances he's given already, plus beating one of the top contenders in Virgil, they wouldn't have a choice

Correct me if I'm misunderstanding your thought-process: GBP's lack of petitioning the WBO means they don't want the Crawford fight, and GBP's petitioning the WBA for the Stanionis fight doesn't necessarily mean they want that fight either? If that's the case, then GBP can do nothing right.

GBP is definitely moving their chess pieces carefully, but I don't think Ortiz's match-making has been as careful. I guess we'll see what happens after the purse bid is finished. If GBP wins, Stanionis still gets a higher % of the bid, so Probellum has one less reason to keep him from fighting on DAZN. Does Stanionis have an exclusive agreement with Showtime like Ennis does?

These guys in the PBC side are wasting or wasted massive amounts of time. Stanionis, Ennis, Crowley, Thurman, Spence. Almost one year worth. If they can't make fights in that same street, same house, why would you even expect this fight to happen?

This is truly a fkd up sport.
