if both were the same size ,age, and JMM had the extra 5 inches of reach like May did the fight would be diffrent. i cant blame JMM for bicthing about the weight it was a big factor and he did say May was slick as hell. you can tell he was feeling the punches of the bigger man. like the other guy said at the lower weights this fight would be diffrent also

Ive seen him talk about the fight about 5 times and all 5 times he basicaly says that he only lost because of the weight. He never even talked about anything Floyd did. It sounds like one of those guys who are sore losers and cant ever admit they may have really lost a fight. I was able to overlook his stuff with the other black fighter who's named I cant think of right now, I overlooked him dis*****g the John fight, and I overlooked him dis*****g the Pac fight but this fight was clear as day.

Again, the weight and size definatly was there but people asked him about that stuff a million times before the fight and every single time he said that its not an issue. Its like people were even trying to get him to say something about it and he wouldnt. You could tell it was genuine too, like he really didnt think that the weight would be much of an issue and he felt great at that weight. Then soon as he loses he talks non stop about it. I could live with it if he lost to a huge brawler who JMM is twice as skilled but that wasnt the case in this fight. He was also getting outskilled and out smarted but he wont admit that in any way. Im not even saying any of this in a normal sense. Im just saying that I hate it when anyone loses clearly and doesnt give there opponent any credit. He atleast couldve said some good things. I think he knew that he had the media & fans back though because they hate Floyd so he could get away with putting every single thing on the weight as to why he lost
**** that. floyd had a big size advantage.

It has been kinda odd because of what you said - he refused to use it as an excuse before the fight, even when asked directly. My take on this is that he had no idea he would do so badly, so it's just his effort at trying to rationalize his defeat while still being shocked by it. It's kinda how when Mosley lost to Cotto, he didn't admit it at first, but a while later he realized he had lost and accepted it. Marquez knows how good Floyd is, he just didn't expect him to be THAT good against HIM. It's like what Baldomir said, that you really have to be in the ring with him to appreciate his skills. Marquez ain't no Baldomir, and that's why he pictured himself doing much better than he did. I'm sure in time he'll realize that Floyd won because of his skills instead of the weight.
