"Munguia previously had an opportunity to face Charlo, as he was—and still remains—the number one contender. A deal was seemingly in place for a June 18 Showtime headliner in Charlo’s hometown of Houston, Texas, only for talks to collapse at the eleventh hour upon the insistence of Zanfer and Golden Boy for DAZN—with whom Golden Boy as a long-term output deal—to be involved in the event."

I guess they can go back to the drawing board, but Charlo vs. Munguia is not as big as Tank vs. KingRy, so I don't see PBC allowing DAZN a cut of that fight. On top of that, technically Adames is the next man up for Charlo! If i'm Munguia, I'm screaming on GBP to get me Charlo come hell or high water, before Adames winds up beating him, or Charlo goes to 168!

Even after Janibek looked beatable against Bentley, Munguia is still afraid to fight him? What's he waiting for? Is this not the opportunity he's been waiting for his whole life? How many wins is he going to rack up before he fights a legitimate opponent? Personally I haven't really seen much in the way of improvement from Munguia but if he doesn't step up his competition soon he will never improve. You need to be tested to know that you can face adversity in the ring, make the right adjustments and come out on the winning end while getting actual valuable experience in the ring. If he keeps taking the easy road he will end up like Gilberto Ramirez, building up a hallow undefeated record until he takes on a real challenge and doesn't have the in-ring experience to rise to the challenge.

Getting to that Mando spot used to mean something. Back in the day those guys deserved the spot, now even when they have not earned it some refuse to take the title shot. I thought the whole purpose of boxing was to be champ but the business of boxing have really messed that up.

Then you got other guys fighting forever and never get a shot or takes too long for them.

The number of belts has diluted the meaning.

Golden boy just put zurdo in with Bivol, zepeda vs jojo, and Ryan in with tank. The problem isn’t golden boy.

Many of those so called "stars" are really afraid to fight Kazakh or Russian boxers...Why?

Therefore I applaud Morell. Despite having less fights than him he took the fight with the undefeated brave Kazakh boxer without hesitation. Many of those high ranked boxers out there are terrified to fight Russian or Kazakh boxers...
