Cool, that's the thing, they are all live opponents who have a chance of beating him... but I still think in all 3 of those fights he would be the favorite.

I think he would beat Cotto, Cotto has a guard were he is hit more easily with straight shots and uppercuts and his defense even though underrated isn't the best, I think he would manage to outbox Cotto to a decision.

Mosley would be a live opponent, and like Cotto could beat Mayweather, but I don't think he will... cause Mosley hasn't got the legs he used to have, and would have had a better chance of beating him at LW when Floyd called him out, cause he had pretty much equal speed but more power, and good legs. But since he has aged he hasn't got the legs anymore, I think Floyd would hit and move around the ring all fight and win a decision, not easy but I think he would do it, unless Mosley tried to dig to the body early on to slow him down... but I see Floyd's foot movement being too good.

Pacquiao, IMO has the best chance of beating him... but once again I aint sure if he will... but still a very close fight. Floyd wont be able to use his shoulder roll as well cause of Manny's southpaw stance, fair enough... but he is a very good defensive fighter and he still has a very good defense against southpaws. When Pacquiao fought JMM (even though he has improved since then) he struggled with the way JMM fought him... JMM counter punched him a lot on that fight... and pretty much the only reason Pacquiao won and drew was cause of the KD's, I think he will find Mayweather harder to hit than JMM... and Floyd is also a better counter puncher IMO, is faster and has a better right hand which JMM managed to catch on Pacquiao quite a few times, like I said, Manny has improved... but he still hasn't been in there with somebody who is a counter puncher since then. Manny could beat Floyd by trying to outwork him, but Floyd is a very smart fighter, and I think he would use his counter punching to win to either a decision or late KO/TKO victory.

Like I said, its all opinions I guess and I bet some guys will read what I said and agree, but some might disagree... just different opinions I guess, but just like you... it is a fight I wanna see, well all 3 are really, I would love to see him fight even just 2 out of the 3 to be honest.

It was a disgrace and a tuneup. It's over. Lets just hope Mr boat buyer handles his real business at WW now.

If the fight was at 142 even. Marquez would have won.

We can't really use the Marquez fight to gage on why Mayweather would prevail, that's a styles based fight.

Mayweather is a good counter puncher, but he's defensive first. This showed a lot in his last fight. My reason for Pacquiao winning is because he attacks so much and so fast it would force Mayweather into a defensive shell all to often. In a lot of Mayweathers fights he makes up the points when his opponent stands right in front of him and tries to time him (but comes out on the losing end most of the time). This is exactly what the slow Marquez did and lost a wide Ud because of it).

It's just like saying Pacquiao demolished Hatton in 2 rounds or killed DLH in 9, it's because of styles.

I think you are right about Shane though, Floyd could get the W in that one IMO (I previously said it;s a 50/50). Shane does have a good chance though, with his right hand.

You have some good posts though, you don't miss to much.

The point of this agrument is that Mayweather does get abit of credit for beating a guy like Marquez even when Marquez as WW.

            why?

I dont see people say Hearns, Hagler and SRL deserve there win against the LW Duran. espiecally Hearn and Hagler.

As long as the fight have been accepted from both side then the fight is one and accpeted as a win.

and Marquez is really a good fighter, and good fighters adapt.

Even Duran looked better at MW than Marquez did at Welter.

For me, it isn't that JMM made Pacquiao struggle that makes me think Floyd will beat him, I am all for styles making fights... I truly believe that, but JMM gave Manny hell by fighting Pacquiao as a counter puncher/boxer... Floyd is better than JMM at those things, bigger, faster, and most likely more accurate, as Manny is moving in I can see Floyd throwing counter rear hands and uppercuts on his way in, he will walk into it too.

Floyd fight each opponent differently, he adjusts to the fighter in there... the reason he fought JMM like he did was cause he could do it and win without breaking a sweat... plus Floyd seems to use his jab more now so he will more prone to keeping Manny away with his jab... which is good when he uses it.

Floyd is all wrong for Manny, seriously... IMO anyway, the styles just match up like that... Manny's style would be great for Floyd to fight, Manny can box but he wont try to Box Floyd cause he can't win that way... the only reason I think he is more prone to beating Floyd than the other 2 is because of how fast he is and he is still young, still got his legs, etc. But its still a bad style match up for Manny IMO.

Like I said about Mosley, I just see Floyd Boxing circles around him to be honest, in fact... that would be more of the kinda fight where people will make threads saying "Saturday night was a bad night for Boxing" saying that Floyd just hit and moved and cause he didn't KO Mosley it wasn't as exciting to casual fans, I still wanna see it... but just making a point.

But either way, what we say means jack **** to be honest... cause they have gotta get it on and prove it, I mean we can both say oh he will beat him... but they have to actually fight each other to prove it.

Even with the weight difference, which put JMM at a disadvantage and did make a difference, it didn't help at all... I think we can tell in the fight that Floyd was just the overall better fighter anyway.
