You cannot give a guy respect if fights a feather weight, doesn't even make weight and then can't even stop him. How has he been at WW so long and not fought a single top name?

i'll admit, Pacquiao vs Mayweather is the fight I wan't to see though, they both are similar in size (Pacquiao being bigger and stronger than Marquez)

just a tune up fight i enjoyed floyd's performance but his opposition downplays it a bit it's a decent win but nothing more.

At 126-130 yes he was great, but Floyd fought him at Welterweight. Marquez put up a valiant display but in the end the weight just slowed him down far to much. I'd suggest everyone watch Marquez at 126-130 if you haven't, the man was actually considered quick and was extremely skilled.

It's sad that Mayweather used him the way he did. I'm sure he would have beat a great like Salvador Sanchez as well had he made him move up to welterweight.
I don't think anybody is claiming the win to really mean anything, I mean Floyd even said he doesn't consider this one of his biggest wins... it is just a good name to have on your resume and a descent win... it isn't career defining or legacy enhancing.

I think what people were most impressed with though was how he performed, I mean we know it wasn't the best JMM out there and we know Pacquiao fought the better version, but Floyd still looked very good out there considering he has been out of the ring for nearly 2 years.

Very good performance considering he has been away a while, but not his hardest opponent, descent win and a pretty good name to have on your resume, but not career defining or legacy enhancing... that's the fairest way you can go about it really.

Yea I agree he did, he still showed he can perform. I'd like to see him fight Pacquiao in a superfight.

I think he'd beat Cotto, struggle with Shane (50/50) I have my money on Pacquiao though (that's just my choice imo, not saying you have to agree).

I honestly think Mayweather will KO Pacquiao if they ever fight and outgun him pretty easily.

Styles are what is more important in boxing.

I honestly gave Marquez a chance in the Mayweather fight a bit because he can adjust, but that's about it. Yet, he coulnt in this fight at all.

Pac has hardly ever shown any of that ability during a fight. He comes in with a game plan and that's about it.

He's an offensive fighter, with angles, great footwork, handspeed and pop, but what's going to happen when that style of his doesnt work against Mayweather?

I could go on, but i'm busy doing homework and I dont want to write too much.

Either way a great fight when it happens, but I feel that a domination by Mayweather will happen and I will put great amt of real money into it.

That win meant nothing. I give Floyd 0 credit for it. I said it before and i'll say it again, it was a glorified rust-shaker. A 1.6 Mill PPV comeback fight.

Marquez wasn't only a beast at FW, he TKO'ed Casamayor and Diaz, two natural LW's who have never been KO'ed before. To call Marquez a FW is just pushing it, you're reaching there. He's a great LW too and i don't see him losing against any one at 140. I know you're trying your hardest to discredit the Floyd fight but you don't have to cause real Floyd fans know that Floyd shouldn't get credit for the fight.

Marquez spent most of his career at FW? well Floyd has like 27 of his 40 fights in those lower weights. People act like Floyd has been a WW his whole life...He only has 6 fights there....out of 40. I saw with my own eyes that he is a natural WW now cause he can't make 140 anymore, i use to deny it back then but only a dumass would say that he's a small WW after seeing him struggle with 144.

to be honest, Marquez was only out pointed badly, not beat badly.
Then Joe Luis Castilo is a the worst fight and a jerk he comes most of his fight overweighted.

I dont see people complaining. Marquez could have said no to the fight like Corrales did to Castillo. and Floyd already got a fine for it.

Exactly, more credit was given to Mayweather's MASTERFUL performance, as it should have.
