I thought it was a close fight that Baumgardner won, even though I like Mayer. Mayer just didn't do enough to win. Never found that next gear to turn up the pressure. Baumgardner outstruck her on all metrics but the jab, and while the jab is important, it's mainly important to set up your own offense while keeping the other person from hitting you with power shots, and Mayer didn't manage to do either. She really needed to up her volume. I would like to see the rematch, but Baumgardner doesn't need her.

Unfortunately your knowledge of the fight appears to be lacking, which leads me to believe that you can't give an accurate assessment without checking skin colour first. It's ok though, you're not alone on this site and you'll have many friends for that stance. I on the other hand can not be swayed by skin colour and only ever score a fight on its merits. Mikaela mayer won 6 rounds. Is that enough evidence for you? I'm sure you'll be able to work out from 10 rounds how many the other girl got.

Ok I'm quite the boxing expert on female boxing on this site, now that wouldn't be hard as most posters on here are more concerned about food stamps and skin colour. This is what will happen but first of , mayer and Baum Gardner was either a close mayer win or a draw. As the judges got it wrong then I believe mayer absolutely deserves an immediate rematch with the homie. I believe mayer will win again and then we can have what I believe to be the greatest fight in female boxing at the moment. Mayer vs Katie Taylor at 135 in croke park, Katie Taylor will win that and will then retire undefeated. This will not be bad news for female boxing as Katie is clearly too good for them All at 135 to 140. What it will do is open up the division were all the remaining girls will be better matched. Look, I picked Mayer to win as the more seasoned fighter, but Baumgardner took it to her and I know that Coach Al had to have told her that.
