Comments Thread For: Stanionis Welcomes Vergil Ortiz Showdown: "I Like His Fighting Style, It Would Be A Big War"

The goal for Eimantas Stanionis was a simple one, become a world champion. Al probably gonna use Stanionis as a chess piece to gauge Ortiz's true ability.

Low Risk/High Reward if he wins.

Presumably it will go to a purse bid although I bet golden boy will try to make a deal before then.

I like stanionis attitude, but he's 100% getting stopped. Ortiz can do everything he does just better, faster, and stronger. He's a solid b level guy. I could possibly see him as another Shawn Porter type. Give everyone a tough fight but always come up short against the elite guys. Who knows, maybe he has another gear, but the guy that fought butaev is not beating Ortiz.

Yes a war indeed, and one that you may not survive Staniones in one piece!
That said it would be one great fight between two undefeated top rated puncher's.

Stanionis vs Ortiz Jr being ordered by the WBA only now is questionable. Both fighters were inactive for months and you have to wonder what the delay is all about.
